I think this ask is referring to this post I made recently, and I just want to clarify a few things!
That post was not referencing taboo topics that are typically associated with proship, and I want to be clear that I will never write prompts about those subjects on this blog. This blog is supposed to be lighthearted and SFW, I was more talking about your more average angsty scenarios, like the ones I listed.
I'm not trying to start any drama or anything, I just want to be clear about what I do and do not post here! I'm not really knowledgeable enough about this discourse to be making any sweeping statements, I just block tags and blogs that make me uncomfortable, and I wanted to encourage others to curate their experience here in the community, it was not a reference to pro/anti discourse.
For all the self-shippers out there having a tough day, imagine your F/O coming home with dinner from your favorite restaurant, or some comforting snacks they know you love, just because you told them you're not feeling the best.
Imagine them setting out all the food, wrapping you in your favorite blanket, and turning on your favorite show while the two of you eat together. You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to, but your F/O is here to listen if you need to let it out. 🤍

There's absolutely nothing wrong with wanting your ships to be strictly wholesome, of course, but enjoying "darker" themes in your self-ships is 100% normal and doesn't necessarily reflect your "real life" standards when it comes to relationships.
For example, you may enjoy writing an angsty break up in the rain or a heated argument over the phone with your F/O, even if those things would be upsetting in a non-fictional setting!
At the end of the day, let's all have fun and embrace our different interests! Remember to tag posts appropriately, be respectful, and look out for one another! 💙

Shout out to self-shippers who are currently losing / have lost feelings for their F/Os in the past. Whether it be that you're simply growing apart or the ship has become a strain on your mental health, you are valid!
It's hard when feelings fade, but remember that self-shipping is all about fun, and there is no shame in taking a break or stepping away from a character that you don't want to self-ship with anymore.
Old F/Os will always be there, should you choose to return, but there is no obligation to keep doing something that doesn't feel right anymore. ♡
