The meaning of DARLING DANCE is rlly unclear and has a lot of interpretations, but it mostly covers the theme of having a deep desire to be loved (among other things). Initially I fell in love with the aesthetics of the album as well as the melody and beat of the song. After reading the lyrics and hearing multiple interpretations I rlly grew to appreciate the meaning of the song (I’m a Vocaloid fan—depressing meanings w/ a seemingly happy exterior are my bread and butter). Phony by Kafu is basically a song where a person describes their experience being a “phony” or faking their personality. There’s a lot of comparison to flowers iirc (haven’t looked at the translation in a hot minute). I like it a lot bc it’s an absolute bop, it reminds me of one of my other fav characters (Mafuyu Asahina from pjsk), and just like with DARLING DANCE the I deeply appreciate the meaning. IT SEEMS LIKE YOU RECOGNIZE LOVE LIKE YOU AND YOU MIGHT EVEN BE AN SU FAN?? LETS GO!!!!! (Even if neither of those are the case I’m so happy someone recognized it YAYAYAYAY!!!). Note; I have not watched the show (but I have friends who will die for it), so my interpretation will be solely based on what I’ve heard. My interpretation of it is that the singer doesn’t understand why this other person the song keeps referring to loves them, but they long to do something that’s worthy of that love, even loving themselves like the other person loves them.
