“Mistress Padmé, do you require any assistance from me?”, Threepio stood behind where she was seated at the vanity. “No, I think I can handle it, Threepio”, she smiled, combing her brown ringlets. “You can meet me at the door though”, Padmé stood up from the vanity, eyeing the beautiful gown Yané had made for her.
“Of course”, the golden droid said walking out of the bedroom to the door of the lake house. Padmé didn’t watch the droid leave, she took the gown into her hands, fingering the delicate ivory lace that had been passed down from her mother and her mother’s mother. Padmé slipped off her dressing gown to step into the local woven satin and heirloom lace gown, next pinning the pearl encrusted lace veil onto her crown of chocolate curls. She was finally a bride.
Meeting Threepio at the door, her stomach fluttered, not from anxiety but from excitement. Soon Anakin and her would be one, only one thing was missing, her family. It had to be this way for now, Padmé wouldn’t let him be expelled from the Jedi Order, not for her. “I’m ready”, she smiled at the droid and the durasteel door slid open.
@jediburden
This day was supposed to be one of the best of his life, and it was … Up until he was sent to the future while getting ready discreetly in one of the room that had been given to him during his stay on Naboo. What he saw there was something that would change his life, everything he thought he knew.
Weeks, months were spent as he learned more and more about his future actions, even had the pleasure of talking to his own kids who had grown separately for their own safety, both their parents dead. Or in his case, only a part of himself had die to make place for a man who was more machine than human. He had cause so many death and chaos and knew it had to do with the sith Lord, who was at the moment known as the Chancellor, a man in which Anakin had a full trust.
Now, as he found himself back in this room he had left ages ago … He knew he was back to his own time, but with his brain full of thoughts and visions, and he’d almost think that it was all the fruit of his imagination if he wasn’t for the change of clothes, and the force around him as everything was slowly coming back to normal.
Padme. This was the day he was getting married. Now, he was so unsure if this is what they should do … The Jedi order … Obi-wan … Anakin was so lost at the moment between what he knew was right and what his heart wanted.
Yet, here he was, waiting for her, circled by people who were important to her, yet none that he knew. This was what he choose, though. Once back on Coruscant, he would have to deal with what he learned but for now, padme was alive and well. And the most beautiful sight he had ever since, deep blue eyes following her entry in the room. No matter what, he would make her happy. And protect her against everything that could do her harm. It was a promise.
Threepio escorted Padme down the aisle, quiet steps and servos whining as they walked. The golden droid was a compliment to her lace gown just as the stone arches and buildings were to the lakes of Naboo. She walked for what seemed an eternity but also a millisecond. When they reached Anakin, the protocol droid parted and joined Artoo to the side of the pair.
The cascading red flowers of the ceremonial plant was behind the officiant adding another stunning contrast to the lake behind them all. It was a Naboo tradition for each married couple to plant a tree or bush after they said their vows. Padme and Anakin’s was the Queen’s Heart, a native plant to Naboo, this would be planted at the private lake retreat and not in her family’s garden due to the secrecy of their marriage.
Padme smiled and whispered to Anakin, “Are you ready?”
