The launch of Hogwarts Legacy in a nutshell
If we are calling people who genuinely are excited to play a game that is part of an extremely influential novel from their childhood "terfs" or "transphobic" because of the author, alright, okay. Then these I guess also have to be true.
1. If you have ever owned an apple product, you support sweat shop labour
2. If you are a fan of bloodborne, call of cthulu, or have read/purchased/enjoyed anything by H.P. Lovecraft, you are racist
3. If you enjoy Shakespear, and have anything in regards to him, you support pedophilia
4. If you ever supported the far cry series, you support workplace abuse.
5. Ever purchased anything made/owned by Disney? Not only are you racist, you're homohobic too!
Before you say 'it is different.' No, it's not.
Now if you excuse me, I'm going to enjoy being a wizard while still supporting my friends and family in the transgender community.

Varric Tethras as a character is wild. He calls everyone by a nickname. He writes trashy romance novels. Heās a prolific liar. His family got them kicked out of the dwarf kingdom for rigging dwarven Wrestlemania matches. He has fingers in literally every crime ring in Kirkwall. He lives in a pub. He named his weapon after his absent girlfriend with whom he has a restraining order. He denies his involvement in keeping the wizard police away from his friendās illegal magic Urgent Care. Heās the mom of the friend group. And he does this all while being four feet tall
blood on women is sexy if itās someone elseās. blood on men is sexy if itās theirs. hope this helps.
Re: the last ask
Making Dick bi and working in a shout-out to Tim's sexuality as well is one of those little things that really shows how well the Gotham Knights team understood their audience. Specifically, it demonstrates a really keen understanding of the difference between writing for a Bat-family audience as opposed to a Batman audience.
You can see that in a lot of little things throughout the game, to the point that I'm really impressed. It's in the design of Gotham, both in leaning hard into the exaggerated gothic architecture (have you seen the cathedral??) and the choice to go for a "neon noir" aesthetic rather than gritty gray-and-brown ""realism""; it's in the design and utilization of the female characters, favoring showing off their personalities over making them look "sexy;" it's in the way all the writing about Bruce focuses on his kindness and nobility and portrays him as a stern but obviously loving father figure; and it's in the little details, like how Jason gets e-mails from cooking blogs, his therapist, and his favorite bookstore. Heck, it's even in the nature of the various references scattered throughout the game, like which friends are sending emails to check in on which knight, and the specific street art projects that fill out that one collection side-quest.
It's one of those things where I'm not surprised if it reviews badly because most video game reviewers fall more firmly into the Batman fandom demographic. They're more likely to favor the Arkham games, with their inspirations in the grim & gritty dark ages, and since Gotham Knights didn't try to do anything new or special with the gameplay there's not much here for them.
But for the Batfamily audience, the people who really want to be playing Nightwing and Robin and Batgirl and Red Hood? They went above and beyond in understanding what that audience (in general) favors in their stories, and it's awesome.
Gotham Knights giving us funny and cute family interactions, Bruce being a tired workaholic but a soft DILF, the batkids showing their dad affection and care and love, Jason's trauma being explored as a gradient instead of a flat tone, Jason going to therapy and being ADORABLE with his brothers, Tim being a cute, nerdy dork, Dick's character being thoughtful and competent and funny as hell, the bernard mention, the bisexual coffee mug, the gay flag, and Jason table dancing:
Some doodles of my favorite dork, Dick Grayson. (Before you say anything I just like him with brown eyes, ok :3 ) Also you know he'd wear a workout crop top I need this DLC in Gotham Knights pls

cyberpunk 2077 players: i hate river cuz hes a COP
River Ward, whose whole storyline is about him being constantly disgusted about the corruption and incompetence of the force to the point where he leaves to become a private eye: š
i find it highly suspish that people have so much hatred for river because heās a cop (even though his entire story is anti cop and particularly anti CORRUPTION but i digress) i never see that kind of hatred for leon kennedy or any other video game cop character. not to mention river is literally a detective⦠do you not want people to like.. solve murder cases? your preformative activism is showing and its not the progressive move you think it is to hate a POC ex-cop fighting the system.
