Blame the character setting!
The moonlight casts itself upon her and she leans into it with all the familiarity of home.
Her back leans against the plush pillows, the skirt of her dress bunched up as she brings her knees together. Blue eyes blankly look up at the night sky as they reflect the full moon in their orbs, a listless expression on her face.
Ah, she's in that mood again.
Sun Wukong has learned quickly enough about this odd mood of hers. While this princess might be a rambunctious and curious little thing in the day, her personality takes a drastic change at night - what was vibrant becomes muted, beaming smiles turning into blank looks that express nothing at all.
He dislikes it, seeing such a look on her face, it makes her feel distant - as though she could slip from his fingers at any moment.
That is why he stalks towards her, determined to give her a surprise that would surely snap her out of whatever state she is in.
The multitude of chains that come bursting out of thin air in all directions are swiftly avoided, blocked by timely swats with his staff.
"Foolish monkey," a cold voice rings out. "Who are you, to interrupt my musings."
Sun Wukong watches as his princess stands from her spot among the pillows, her fingers twitching slightly, directing the chains to move closer to her like obedient pets.
She turns around and he is greeted with a pair of sharp blue eyes tinged with moonlight silver.
His eyes see all - it is still her.
In that case, "And who are you?" Sun Wukong asks, bringing his staff to rest across his shoulders, posture languid. "Who do you think you are?"
His princess smiles, a cold image.
"Would you ever mistake the moon in the sky?"

She mentally screams with all the self-control a role-player can possess.

I can't believe it actually works!
Her mind flashes back to her settings and concepts during character creation, at the papers dedicated to writing down her character's base stats and abilities. The settings, effects and flavor text.
<Lunar Flower> : Just as the moon has its different sides, so too does the Moon Princess. At day, she is a bright and cheerful girl, a flower that blooms under the sun. At night, she displays her majesty and power as the Moon Princess, cold and unrelenting.
Day - Increases Basic Attributes by 20%. Increases Four Banes Resistance by 15%. Shoots chains from thin air to attack.
Night - Increases Basic Attributes by maximum. Increases Four Banes Resistance by 50%. Inflicts Ice, Flame and Thunder Damage for every basic and charged attack. Shoots chains from thin air to attack.
It's a good setting. Perfect start for an OP character creation. There's nothing wrong in making a setting for an overpowered character - it's basically every person's dream! If other people can make up eldritch beings for their RP and character creation then why not her?!
But you see...the thing is...
I sound like a freaking chuunibyo character!!!
...But I sound so badass too, damn it.
