I hope you are aware of what you’re doing. You are asking ME about Shingen. Alright then. haha.
Spoilers for Shingen’s, Yukimura’s, Mitsuhide’s and Kenshin’s route.

It is time to praise the Bi-King of the Sengoku. My love, my heart, my stars and skies.
Shingen, like a lot of other characters in Cybird games, is not nearly written as intelligent as he actually is. They portrait him very often as simple minded flirt, who is only after skirts (or kimonos?). Of course we see glimpses of his actual motives in his route, but where you see the actual depth of his character is when you read things from his POV. Because even his MC takes a long time to realize where his strengths and weaknesses actually are and by the end of his route she is still learning.
He is terrifyingly smart and with his eyes and ears everywhere all over Japan, he is even better connected than the likes of Mitsuhide. (As mentioned in Mitsuhide’s dramatic route.)
While he is very vengeful in regards of Nobunaga and the Oda forces, his real focus is ALWAYS on the people of Kai, or ‘the people’ in general. Shingen’s priority is not to hurt anyone innocent if he can avoid it. He does move heaven and earth to help the people close to him. First of all in his route when he realizes he starts to fall in love with MC he prefers to hurt himself instead of involving anyone else. He is the type who suffers in silence, not only from his illness but from heartbreak too. He is very self aware when it comes to his own emotions, though decides mostly to ignore them for the good of his goals. Which is to put Kai back in the hands of her people and give them all a home again.
Then in Kenshin’s route he is stepping back from his alliance with the Uesugi just to even the path for a peace treaty between Kenshin and the Oda, so it wouldn’t rip his friend and MC apart.
In Yuki’s route he is always there for advice and help. What really stuck with me is the talk he gives MC, asking her to care for Yukimura when he can’t do it anymore. While Yuki really feels like his son, once he catches wind of the relationship with MC he backs off from his flirty behaviour and adopts her instead.
That being said, in my opinion, Shingen is the most loving character in this whole game. His heart is as big as his broad chest. He loves his friends and his people to a point where it actually is unhealthy for him.
I really fail to realize why Shingen isn’t loved more by this fandom. (Yes, I know it’s because most of you are actually babies compared to me xD spoken in the most affectionate sense of course.) To use this simple post so summarize how much I adore this man just isn’t enough. There have rarely been characters in any of the fandoms I’ve gone through over the years which I connected so strongly like I do to him.
Of course there is also the point of him being too hot that it’s illegal. Have you looked at the guy? Ugh. I can’t even. But that’s not what makes me love him so much. Shingen is beyond loyal, intelligent, caring, kind and fun to be around.
Returning to him after I really suffered from anxiety in Hideyoshi’s route was like being wrapped in a warm comforting blanket. I love my king. And if someone shit talks him around me because of their narrow minded views that these games sadly often bring with them, well... Then better not talk to me in the first place. xD
There are a lot of things I didn’t touch in this post, because I just don’t have the time right now. And I also didn’t get into the fact that his counterpart in SLBP is also my favorite from that game, or how fascinating I find his historical character... Well.. another time. For now..that’s it
