It's interesting that both Issue 20 of Absolute Batman and Issue 11 of Absolute Martian Manhunter are eerily similar to each other.
I don't want to spoil much but they both pose a question of whether or not free will even exists in this universe. And in both cases the thought that everything was pre-planed by someone else feels too good to be true. Like, the villains had failed at breaking our heroes in one way so they are now trying to make them question everything about their life up to this point. Which is fucked up if you remember that this universe is influenced by Darkseid, who's all about the Anti-life equation, so convincing someone that their whole life was designed by someone else is basically like an extention of that.
Benevolent or malevolent, the force that you didn't know existed pushed you towards a certain path in life. You didn't really had a choice. What are you going to do now and does it even matter anymore?
And in both cases communication and connection with other people seems to be more important than ever. Both characters isolated themselves, and are susceptible to manipulation from those who seek to destroy them.
Luckily, Bridget is out of the house so maybe they'll finally be able to have a proper conversation and Waylon (the GOAT) is reaching out to the rest of the crew so MAYBE they'll be able to stop Bruce from doing something stupid while he's searching for answers. (Also I think that Harley might know something about what is going on. Or maybe I'm reading too much into her reaction to the file)
