Will I need special bins?
Your local council will provide the bins you need to put your food waste in for collection, but the type of bin you use to separate food waste in your kitchen is up to you.

Dishwashers get dirty easily so knowing how to clean them effectively is very useful. Follow this simple 7 step process on how to clean your dishwasher without the use of any harmful chemicals.
I rely heavily on many things to make housework less of a burden (to me housework is a necessary but hated task). I have a washing machine to wash my clothes, a tumble dryer to dry them, a vacuum cleaner to clean my carpets and an automatic sensor bin so I don't have to touch it. Dishwashers are becoming more and more popular and I absolutely love mine because of all the household cleaning tasks washing dishes is my absolute nemesis. The one thing most people do not think about is cleaning their dishwasher! Follow the link to learn the 7 simple steps.
3 Ways to Keep the Germs at Bay
Germs in the kitchen can spread very easily, from one individual to another or by simply coming into contact with unclean appliances and surfaces. By using hot water and soap or disinfectants you can help avoid bacteria spreading in your home.
Sponges, Cloths and Mops
Use kitchen paper towels or disposable cloths as one bacterium on a damp cloth can multiply to 6 million within 8 hours.
Sponges and Mops should be disinfected after every use, as germs stick to these very easily and rinsing with hot water will not remove them.
Use 2 buckets when mopping, 1 for rinsing and 1 for detergent.
Kitchen Surfaces
Clean surfaces with disinfectant after every use
Use separate utensils and chopping boards when dealing with raw meat
Thoroughly wash your hands after coming into contact with dangerous foods like raw meat.
Rubbish Disposal
Avoid touching the lid when disposing of waste. Automatic sensor bins or foot-pedal bins are more hygienic.
Empty your kitchen bin frequently to avoid attracting germs and insects.
