Most of the headcanons I've seen about Dew's transition from water to fire are full of angst and pain. Which makes perfect sense, obviously.

But just imagine for a moment a different world.

Imagine Dew, born a water ghoul, craving the fire.

Imagine him convincing Papa to please, just give him the chance. Imagine him undergoing all the preparations, readying himself for the great spells that would be needed to drive an elemental transition.

Imagine the moment the magic takes him, fire burning through every vein, every nerve at white-heat. Imagine him scoured, made new.

Reborn to the flames.

Exhausted, spent after the trials and pain, but elated.

Euphoric. Made new.

Made what he was always destined to become.
