okay okay okay last leriexoxo post i promise, but a friend sent me this and it's just too fucking funny not to share. i unblocked them, but they'd already blocked me, which is more than fair. what's hilarious though is they'd made a long post about me, without having the balls to actually tag me or message me directly.

ngl, i haven't read all of this because i've read all their excuses before. but what i can say is that i wasn't one of the anons that sent them death threats. because not only am i not twelve, but because if i had, you'd know it was me. because i'm not a coward who hides behind anon 😘 xoxo *

call me lazy, but i only scanned this. if they'd messaged me or tagged me properly i would've read it, but they didn't, so i haven't. again, the problem i have with ai is that it literally rips off other people's work. oh, plus the whole it's killing the planet thing.

the bit that did catch my eye was when they talk about the prompt they forgot to take out. they said the prompt they use is "You're a professional editor, take my draft and correct all the mistakes and clean it up for me."

that is not an editing prompt. that is a generative prompt. no more needs to be said.

this isn't some kind of call to arms. it's important to call out ai and make people aware of it's negative impact, but don't go spewing random hate. i personally chose to call this user a talentless thieving coward, because as far as i'm concerned that's an accurate description of their behaviour. was it nice of me? no. am i going to apologise for it? also no. i might've done, if it weren't for the delightful anon message they sent me. really, if it wasn't for that message, none of this would've come up on my blog at all. but such is life.

ANYWAYS. i imagine my lovely regular readers are getting bored of this drama, so i'll return to my regular content of smut and trauma.

like i said in response to the 'anon' - though after this they might actually be an anon and not leriexoxo theirself, considering they posted all this without messaging me directly - i don't care that i don't get loads of engagement.

i write for me, and the others like me. those of us who are damaged, who struggle with guilt and shame and the dark shit that comes from our pasts. and also for those who just like dark smut. you don't have to have gone through shit to enjoy it. this is a safe space for us.

a safe, ai free space. okay okay, i promise that's the last time i'll mention it.

Which I find crazy, with the amount of hate he gets it’s insane how it transfers to his fans. And she absolutely uses ai. Just great work. Added another person to my block list. Thank you! It's the way she just never gives up lmao 😭 one of her minions commented on my post and called me jealous among other things and i just found it so funny. She will never experience organic growth in her blog if she keeps it up lol.

If you're a writer and you're scared that you'll get accused of using AI even though you're 100% not, I recommend that you use google docs because it has a feature where you can see your revisions history. I'm not sure if Word also has it as I don't use it as much, but it's worth the shot.

Edit: Here's an example from my latest fic. You can see my revision history from the day I created my document up until the current version. You can also restore lost work using it too! An absolute life saver during college when working on my thesis lol.

As you can see, I started doing A Wolf's Territory last year and only came back to working on it last month lmao. But at least that's how you know that I never used AI.

THANK YOU for spreading awareness I loved one of her fics 😔 but I am going to un reblog her stuff I think it was only one of her fics but thank you!!! I did after feel some suspicion couldn’t really put my finger on it :(

Maybe it’s because of my ocd and a learning disability I hate that I feel scared to use - or a ; cause I feel like one day I’ll be accused of using AI, and it’s also I’d rather have someone literally proof read my terrible writing and tell me I’m horrible and dumb than have ai and I sadly I had a professor be fine with me using Grammarly but then once I actually saw that it had ai in it I was horrified

I was also disappointed seeing that Lerie was using AI all along. I genuinely loved her fics so seeing that error that exposed her of using AI really made my stomach drop.

And I also wanna add that there's no escaping from AI right now. Even the academe is now accepting the use of AI under the pretense that there are certain rules to follow. And, in my opinion, I genuinely think that not all AI is bad. It was created to make life a bit more easier and accessible, like how search engines are enhanced by AI to give an easier explanation on what your searching for (Gemini by Google) or grammarly to check your grammar and spelling, Quillbot as a paraphrasing tool. Heck, there's even AI to check for AI work. There's the good side to it. But it also has a lot of bad sides (honestly, I think the bad sides weigh more atp) and it truly can get out of hand, like stealing the creativity out of everyone, becoming dependent to it, the spread of fake news, and videos that can easily pass as something that's really real when it isn't.

I remember the phrase that goes "I want AI to do my dishes and laundry so I can do art and writing, not for AI to do my art and writing so I can do my dishes and art" and it really goes deep. AI is now destroying artistic communities and it really is concerning, which is why we're so against the use of AI. Using AI to write fics is like plagiarism but make it 2025.

Human writers will always prevail. I'd rather read a fic with a lot of errors and bad grammar, rather than a perfectly polished fic writen by a robot.

hi hello sorry if this is random but i honestly have no clue how to tell if fics were written by ai or not. i was reading a fic just now and a line came like “you okay?” xx asked reader suddenly. do you think this is ai with the random reader in there? bc i dont think writers would put reader as a placeholder when they could’ve just used “you” like normal idk

Tbh, it's pretty hard to determine which fics are made by human and which fics are not atp. Because there really are writers out there who are really seasoned and experienced enough to write picture-perfect fics— no typos, amazing grammar, good vocabulary, and a polished writing style.

So I can't really say if the fic you just read is AI or not. Though, if you really wanna be more informed, I suggest you check out this post by @cb97percent. It explains in depth on what to look out for. Other than that, we're on our own.

Either way, there are a lot of genuine and talented human writers out there! I recommend looking at @cbini's post featuring a lot of recommended writers. Check out the reblogs on that post too, as a lot of other writers posted their reblogs too!

That feeling when you find out yourself that one of your favorite writers can possibly be using AI to write their fics... I feel betrayed... looks like theyr forgot to erase the AI part... This is terrifying bcs at this point you can't really tell if a fic is AI or written by a human anymore.

in light of this recent(-ly exposed, because ai in fanfiction is anything but recent and new) issue, let me just restate some of the things i talked about with @matzofficial back in april when i first read one of leriexoxo’s work:

“i’m so sad and scared because i don’t want to feel like i need AI to do art because that’s exactly what we are supposed to be fighting against. […] and i’m so angry, because i am here mourning my writing and my passion for writing (or the lack thereof), being so ashamed for [even thinking of] trying AI for inspiration to the point that i fear touching the docs recently and… people out here are outright posting ai fics. […] it feels dehumanizing. it is dehumanizing.”

we have, unfortunately, reached a point where it’s hard to distinguish what’s ai and what’s not. and even more terrifying is the confidence it provides, both to ai-generative users and ai-content consumers, because that confidence is what endangers this to become a never-ending cycle.

writing (and art in general) is one of the best proofs of our humanness. the quirks and oddities and peculiarities that seep into our art is what makes it human. what purpose does art serve now that it is not made from our own hands?

i genuinely hope this prompts us, readers and writers, to rethink what it means to be here.
