Friday Night Bible Study, I took off my glasses during worship. My eyesight got so bad over the years that everything and everyone was a complete blur. I saw silhouettes and figures but made sense of nothing.
I couldn’t see who was worshiping I couldn’t see how the students were worshiping

We’re overwhelmed at times with the expectations we think God has of us. But think about it, Jesus said all scripture was summed up in simply loving Him back, because if you love Him, you’ll end up following Him. If you follow Him, you’ll end up obeying Him. Don’t be distracted by your own lofty and unrealistic expectations, just love Him back like He asked.

Why do we still sin?
"You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. When you look into the vast, gaping unknown future, it’s easy to become fearful, anxious, and worried. Then suddenly your present is as bad as you worry your future might be. God is calling you to a life of passion, today. Your future life will look a lot like the life you live today. Remember: those who seek, will find what they’re looking for. Called to Serve.
What do we (Christians) truly want from a church we are part of? Why are we not pleased/satisfied with our church?
Often times I hear people say (and I am very much guilty of saying this as well) that they want the church they are attending to be certain way so that it satisfies their desires of how a church should be. For instance (a mild case), “I want to be part of a small group that emphasizes on the Scripture” or “I want the praise band to play the songs that I am familiar with and that I enjoy” or “I just don’t like the people there”.
Wait.. I thought we were called to serve the church not to be served. Oh God saw this coming:
Malachi 3:17-18 They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, in the day when I make up my treasured possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him. Then once more you shall see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked between one who serves God and one who does not serve him.
It is such a privilege that we are given a chance to serve, as a living sacrifice, to further His Kingdom instead of searching for ways to further our “me-kingdoms”.
Romans 12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
