A grin spread across his face, half-teasing, half-sincere. “Cute, huh? Hah… yeah… I guess… maybe… if it means I get to… stay close to you.” He leaned just enough to rest his forehead against yours, eyes softening. “Promise me… promise me you’ll stay, okay?”
