It would be pretty safe to say that your roommate Seongbin was the last person you should be turning to for actual dating advice. Despite the guy being so fascinated by romance, you have yet to see him go on an actual date with someone. You are constantly poking fun at him, pointing out that no, running into the person he likes at his favorite cafe does not count as a date.
Ever since you moved in with Seongbin, the two of you have grown closer every day. He easily became one of your best friends and together you started planning weekly movie nights. Being a true hopeless romantic to his core, movie nights with Seongbin always consisted of watching everything from the sappiest, heart wrenching love story to the latest romcoms. Your ideal way to end the week is sitting on the couch in your favorite pair of pajamas, wrapped up in a giant blanket together, and making silly comments when the main characters miss the most obvious hints.
The best part about nights like these is where the both of you can freely talk about your favorite romance tropes and discuss romantic concepts without the mood turning awkward. It was tonight when things started to take a different turn.
"I think kissing in the rain is more romantic, you canāt prove me wrong," Seongbin said as he crossed his arms with a cocky expression that was obviously meant to egg you on.
Rolling your eyes at him, you shook your head, "Well, kissing in front of a lit fireplace is so much better! You could never convince me to lock lips with someone out in the cold, pouring rain."
Both of you were well aware of the fact that this playful game of back and forth could go on for hours. The movie on the living room TV was paused, displaying the scene that sparked the discussion. Seongbin glanced at the screen. In this particular kiss scene, the two main characters shared their first kiss in the rain, which then led on to them making their way inside of the cabin to dry up. The screen was paused in the middle of a passionate kiss, the orange light from the fireplace gently outlining their sillouettes.
Seongbin laughed, that kind of hearty chuckle that comes out when he's really amused by something. In this case, he canāt help but giggle as he finds the serious look on your face very entertaining. He also thinks you look so cute with that little furrow in between your brows, and that slight pout that he just wants to kiss right off of your face. It isnāt often that Seongbin gets to tease you and in this moment he knows he has the upper hand.
It takes you a moment to notice how Seongbin is obviously enjoying the sight of you getting worked up. You try to think of a comeback to get back at him, but unfortunately his giggles are contagious. Realizing how serious you must have looked made you feel silly, shy, and warm all at the same time.
One thing about living with someone as cute and lovable as Seongbin is that teasing him can be oh so entertaining. It became second nature to throw small playful comments at him. His puppy-like demeanor only makes for even cuter reactions to being teased. Tonight, however, Seongbin has been on a roll teasing you. When the tables turn, you can count on him to make you flustered when you least expect it.

As movie night continued, you and Seongbin have already sat through 3 movies and many kissing scenes. The topic of kisses never truly died down, bringing itself up whenever the characters are about to lock lips.
Seongbin let out a laugh at how fixated you were on the screen. The main characters of this movie were just inches apart, holding each other close and slowly leaning forward to share their first kiss. Your eyes were locked onto the screen in anticipation for the moment their lips touch. Seongbin took this chance to let his eyes wander around your face before sheepishly smiling.
āYou wish that were you, huh,ā Seongbin quickly looked back at the screen before you caught him staring.
āPsh, Iām just curious,ā you answered honestly.
This was not how Seongbin imagined you would respond, half expecting you to immediately deny his teasing and tell him a little bit about your kissing experience. That was his goal after all, to know more about you and what you like.
āWait, you never had your first kiss?!ā
You have never seen your roommate so stunned. After living with you for almost a year now, he had barely learned this fact about you. He stared at you like you had just told him the funniest joke ever said. This reaction made you nervous on how to answer him.
āYouāre telling me nobody has ever kissed you?ā he took a slight pause before continuing his mini interrogation, ādo you even know what a french kiss is like?ā
Seongbin wears a slightly smug look on his face.
Oh, heās teasing me again.
For the millionth time, you rolled your eyes at his attempts to make your face flush.Ā You always had been the one who was quick to say something that made Seongbinās heart skip beats.
Then, it hit you.
Two can play at this game.
āCan you.. show me how?ā
Seongbin froze. He couldnāt believe it. You sat in front of him, grabbing both of his hands in yours, looking at him with those eyes that he could never say no to. Truth be told, Seongbin had occassionally daydreamed about kissing you the same way you two had seen in countless movies and dramas. He would think about how you told him that you prefer softer, deep, emotional kisses rather than steamy kisses that āleft a mess all over your face.ā At first he had laughed at your descriptions, but while he lie in bed at night, heād think about holding you gently and giving you those tender kisses you keep talking about.
āTeach me, please,ā you gave Seongbin your best shot at puppy eyes.
āYou want me to show youā¦ā there was a not so subtle quiver in his voice. Watching him slowly start to panic motivated you to push him even further. Your intentions to fluster Seongbin were working, but you were still unsure of what would happen when he folds. Nonetheless, you had been pretty curious about this side of him and find amusement in seeing him in this flustered state.
You leaned in towards Seongbin at a snailās pace, giving him more than enough space to back out. From the way his eyes fluttered slightly as you came closer, it was clear he wouldnāt be changing his mind any time soon. When your lips finally touch, his hesitation was replaced with a new sense of confidence.
His hand moved up to gently cradle the back of your head, just firm enough to help guide you. The hand gripping your waist slowly slid down to help guide your legs over him, settling you into his lap. To your surprise, Seongbin was a lot more experienced than you originally made him out to be. Every movement being careful and deliberate, not wanting to overwhelm or scare you away. You could tell that he cared about your comfort and your experienceā considerate and gentle as he would always treat you.Ā He kisses were soft and patient, making you feel safe and warm in his embrace.
You finally pull apart after what felt like an eternity. The soft flushed look on Seongbinās cheeks paired with his slightly pink lips had your heart doing backflips. His fluffy mess of hair being the cherry on top. You try to suppress a giggle at the sight of this, but he can see right through you.
āWas it okay? Whatāre you smiling at me like that for?ā Seongbin poked at your cheek, a shy pout on his face making him look even more adorable.
You smiled back at him, watching how his eyes followed your lips form into a grin, and immediately he began to mirror your expression. This attentiveness only made you want to pull him forward to kiss him again and again.
Taking your time, you ran a hand through Seongbinās messy hair at an attempt to fix it, before settling on his warm cheek.
