The CAT Exam is comprised of 3 sections:

Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)

Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)

Quantitative Aptitude (QA)

The paper pattern for the CAT exam has changed several times in the past. For the last 2 years, the pattern has remained the same with respect to the total marks and no. of sections. A brief detail about the pattern is given.

Total Duration :- 180 Minutes

Negative Marking- :-   -1 for Each Incorrect Attempt

Sectional Details :- Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability & Reading     Comprehension, and Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation.

CAT 2021 registration process began on August 4 and the last date to apply is September 15 (till 5 PM). Candidates planning to appear in CAT 2021 can apply on the official website. This year, the application fee has been increased by 10 per cent. CAT 2021 will be conducted with COVID-19 guidelines such as social distancing, wearing of face mask, gloves and staggered entry at the test centres.

In an important announcement on August 18, 2021, IIM Ahmedabad made many changes to the CAT 2021 eligibility criteria and removed the minimum percentage requirement for graduation scores. In response to the various inquiries IIM Ahmedabad received from candidates, the "promotion/pass" certificate issued by them in the last two years of the undergraduate program (the year of the pandemic) replaced For the "Qualification" certificate, the CAT Center has made the following changes to the CAT 2021 qualification requirements.

CAT 2021 Exam Preparation

CAT exam is likely to be conducted on November 28. So, with four months to go for CAT 2021 Exam, aspirants must start preparing rigorously  for it from now onwards. First of all choose the CAT preparation mode - coaching institute or self study. Whichever, mode you choose, you'd have to devote six to eight hours to studies daily. Revise all the concepts and formulae regularly so that it is fresh in memory till the exam day. Revise them with reference to their application on different types of questions. In the exam, you will have to decide in a split second which theorem is to be applied on a particular question. Increase the frequency of CAT mock tests only at the later stage of CAT 2021 preparation.
