🐸Some of you probably picked new year's resolutions, so uh, I have a little advice, that expierence has taught me. Apologies if this comes across as preachy.
Don't expect to much from yourself.
If you never went to the gym before, don't expect to be buff at the end of the year.
It just won't happen. A lot of you would start to blame yourself if you don't achive your goals. You'll think "Oh, I was lazy, or weak and worthless" I know I did. If you do think this, you're forgetting that
any progress is great progress.
If you only go to the gym once a season, when you used to only go one day a year. That's 4 times the amount you used to go!
4 times is a lot!! I mean imagine if I was 4 times my height. I'd be 24ft tall!
I think, that we think that progressing can be done pretty quickly nowadays. I think this impatience, stems from the internet. I think because of it giving whatever we want whenever we want it, that we think that progressing in life quickly is easy!, it doesn't help that the internet is filled with sucess stories of people who, "got ripped in 90 days" or "became fluent in a language in a year". Know that these people are often quite privileged and lucky.
When we're faced with the reality, that
progressing is extremely slow and hard, we blame ourselves and or get demotivated. So, don't think that progress is fast!. Progress is slow and yeah, to become super strong, or a really good cook, or closer to your faith, or get really good at fortnite, or whatever it is your goal is, is hard and it'll take years, but you have years! Life is long! and you can do it, you'll have setbacks and days where you don't want to get out of bed, but you **can** do it! Life is a marathon and not a sprint. So, don't blame yourself for running slow!
