One time I couldn't think of the turkish word for "janissary" cuz I was reading about the ottoman empire in english a lot. That was probably the most embarrassing thing that happened to me in recent memory. It's a fucking loanword from the turkish "yeniçeri". it sounds the fucking same. How could i have possibly forgotten it

My uncle is saying like our culture is gonna die with them and that we're always making excuses for not being able to speak zazaki. How can i learn a language if you don't speak it to me 😭? And he said "I already learnt English" First of all YOU can't even speak it as your only foreign language also I didn't see zazaki in class for 10 years now did I? There are barely any resources and it's not gonna be the same as being a native speaker.

I plan to learn it once I get french to a decent level but then my parents are gonna be like "why don't you learn an useful language?" I don't blame my parents for not teaching me. tbh the real culprit there is the turkish goverment probably but it's not like I'm gonna be able to convince my uncle of that and I don't like them saying it's my fault. It's a sore point for me. Which is why I'm complaining here

The kurds have gotten such good PR from being an heavily opressed muslim minority that the people mentioning armenian genocide and "free kurdistan" in the same breath to own turks have forgotten that they played a big part in said genocide too. A lot of the lands that are claimed to be a part of kurdistan by kurdish nationalists because "they are majority kurdish" are only so because sunni kurdish tribes murdered the armenians who they lived alongside with for centuries. Then they settled in the villages they emptied. Supporting their claims to these lands while condeming the armenian genocide at the same time is nuts.

I can't tolerate western leftist putting up the bilionth article on how feminist and communist these nationalists are. Talking about "nationalism of the opressed vs the opressor" as if most groups aren't both.

Went to my grandparents on the other side of the country and I have huge urge to play blasphemous 2 right now cuz I played thru it like multiple times while i was here last time. I don't have my laptop and controller with me though cuz there's no internet and the journey is like 21 hours
