Part of a family that probably thinks they are more influential in New York than they actually are, Everett is cocksure just short of being completely annoying. There’s nothing he thinks he can’t have, and hardly anything he doesn’t go for when he wants it. He’s a private person for the most part, taking care to be vague on social media and rarely if ever shows off any beau on his own. Growing up he was always the kid that got note from his teachers that he was very intelligent, and if only he just applied himself more seriously. With plenty of money to throw around from his parents he paid for assignments to be done often, applying his intelligence in a way less expected to get through highschool and college. He used the free time that gave him to party and more often than not found himself in situations where he had to then get himself out of trouble.
Little has changed about him since, still self absorbed and believing he can do no wrong, (that he can’t get out taking responsibility for scott-free). Everett worked hard and played even harder through his twenties, enduring little difficulties in his life other than having to prove to others that he was not as ridiculous as some of his family who are rarely taken seriously. In New York the Knox name can be a bit of a punch line, most well known for being fans of the social spotlight than anything else. Some of his female family memebers have more than once tried to produce and star in their own reality TV show, the pilots of which featured Ev’s blurred face as he refused to sign any releases for them. He avoids being portrayed by gossip girl as a messy party boy only by being intelligent enough to attend very private gatherings as he’s loathe to be compared to his messy family members.
The Knox family is considered new money, with most of what they've made coming from Ev's father's real estate dealings and his uncle's art galleries. What better way to increase each other's profitability than fill the property sold with art? Everett’s mother was a moderately well-known interior decorator for a time, but now mostly spends her time on charity boards or with ladies who lunch. Everett has one sibling, his twin sister Evette. She’s a perpetual thorn in his side, gossip girl obsessed and a fairly successful influencer. Of his cousins, one is an artist, the other a tv host and the last a model. His sister and cousins are considered little more than being some of New York's wanna be Kardashians by Gossip Girl. He himself generally stands apart by being the most private on social media. Everett personally despises the current reputation his family has, and it puts a bit of a strain on his relationship with them.
Briefly, there was a time when it seemed Everett was moving on from his party boy ways and getting serious. He became serious a bout a young woman who brought him down to earth, that he saw himself wanting to be at least a little bit better for. He became more focused on her and less on money or letting his family get him worked up. They had a two year relationship that resulted in an engagement that ended suddenly that suddenly ended a year or so ago. They are no longer on speaking terms and any event he shows up at that she is also at, they keep as much distance as possible.
All that considered, he is doing very well for himself. He has worked his ass off and has barely had to touch his own trust fund. Anyone who knew him from high school or college is generally a bit taken aback, as he was quite a party boy– and still is from time to time– and didn't seem particularly concerned with being top of the class. He is one of the only members of his family that finished with a masters degree. Though, he much less actively uses his degree due to the fact that he’s able to make large sums of money very quickly in his profession as financial manager and doing his own private trading. Though he doesn't exactly brag about it, he's planning on getting into politics soon.
