is portfolio domain name matters much? would you still click on artistname(point)tumblr(point)com or artistname(point)carbonmade(point)com?
The actual url address matters less and less these days – what’s important is that you are easy to find by search engines like google. Art Directors will type in “Your Name” and “Art” or “Illustration” and that’s generally how they will find your website. Most are not going to be typing it in by hand. So make sure your metadata and SEO are all in order. There’s plenty of tutorials that tell you how to improve your search ratings.
If they are typing it in by hand, it doesn’t really matter what the url is. How the website looks and how easy it is to navigate and view your art is the much more important thing to worry about.
