"Something happen to your pit? I’m sorry" he frowns at the thought, shrugging. Jiha had caved in, Littner became filled with toxic gas, he could only imagine what happened to this persons pit.

"It’s nice to meet you, Satomi!"

          " It is what it is, and I can't help that. "

          She offers a smile, but it's hard to decipher between            kind and forced, or something else entirely. Smiling            and anything in relation to being friendly or caring           of others around her was a virtue she had lost in the           years of dwelling on the surface by herself.

          " Mhmm. "

          Satomi offers in response, before tilting her head. 

          " So... who's this 'team' of yours, may I ask? "

          “Probably, but Simon and I both lost our parents, regardless. Actually…I only recently discovered that my dad died after leaving Jiha.”

          He pauses, then opens his mouth as if to say something…then decides not to. Instead he simply sighs through his nose and keeps his stoic appearance, although his face does look a tad less stern.

          “Well. I suppose I won’t keep a lone wolf from her path. If you change your mind and decide that company wouldn’t be so bad, we’re situated to the southeast. Otherwise…good luck.”

          With that said, Kamina turns and starts walking away, his hands moving to shove themselves into his pockets while he moves.

                She had wanted to say something-- anything, to keep him                  from leaving... but she just stood there, watching him leave                  until she finally said, with a, hopefully, loud enough voice for                 him to hear her:

                " Wait! "

                I'm going to regret this. I'm going to hate myself for doing this.                 I'm going to regret ever doing this, she thought to herself as                 she moved to catch up with him, hands nervously going to                 situate themselves with messing with the scarf ever present                 around her neck. 

                " Company... might not be so bad... "

                 She paused and then tried a smile, but it seemed more                  mechanical than natural. It was if she wasn't used to the                  action. 

                 " My name's Yuuma. Satomi Yuuma. "

          He might look stern, with how his arms are crossed across his chest and how his feet are spread out on the dusty ground beneath him, but his voice is much gentler than it lets on.

          “You ain’t the only one that’s lost their village.”

                  Lost. The word cuts deep and breaks through her                   demeanor, making her features soften and gaze                    grow distant-- but only for a split second. Then, she                   is right back to her old self. The self she'd much                    rather be.

                  " But I'm likely the only one to lose their parents,                   and their village in the span of three days. "

                  Her words are supposed to be cold, but she only                   sounds... tired. Upset. Alone.

"Uh, who, me? I’m out here collecting water for my team, I know where they are, thanks for the concern though!" He smiles, sitting in Lagann and pumping water into the basin next to him.

"I haven’t seen you around here though, your home nearby here? I’m Simon by the way, what’s your name?"

               " Ah, I see. Travelling as a team, "

               Though trying to be sympathetic, it's obvious                she doesn't understand... something. What is                it? That's to be determined. She smiles, despite                that, and shifts her weight to the other side of                 her body, seeming to not know what to say to                him in return.

               " Well, sort of. It's not really my home, but yes,                I guess so. "

               A pause.

              " My name's Satomi. Nice to meet you Simon. "

(( imo i dont know how its gonna play out for me because i have hypersomnia and like fall asleep at random times and have lack of muse and everyones so great like ari and you guys like my god the only thing im good at here is takin advice and coding ))
