Luisa D'Oliveira by Natalie Robison
“You are young, there is still time to do better. True── see, know you got brownie points for knowing something about Marvel. Although, most girls I’ve met has only watched the movies and shit. Bummer.”
“How kind of you to give me a chance. It’s hard to say where I get most of my knowledge. My memories are a bit jumbled but I do know I like to learn more.”
“O- Oh.” Andrei paused for a moment and there was an awkward moment that filled the air. “I’m uh sorry, I didn’t know that.”
“N-No. No need to apologize. You couldn’t have known. I just thought it would be enough for you to let me help you. If I shared something like that I mean,” Sera explained her words rushing together as she awkwardly brushed back her hair just to have something to do with her hands.
He’d never considered sports for Jasmin. Sports were his thing, and any time he tried to get her into soccer she looked at him like he was a mad man. He hadn’t even considered an outlet like ballet which sounded like it would be right up her avenue. “That ain’t a bad idea. She can prance around and get all that energy out in those classes.” He laughed at the next suggestion. “Dunno if she would be interested for the discipline she’d probably go to learn some moves and try and kick my ass.” He tilted his head. “How much are you thinking of charging?”
“Yes it can take quite a bit of energy that’s for sure,” Sera agreed with a nod glad to know that perhaps she had helped just a little bit. “Dancer muscles could help her do that as well,” she commented with a small smirk when he mentioned his little sister kicking his ass. It just seemed like a very funny thought. “M-Me? Oh well I hadn’t thought of anything like that. I suppose I am unemployed but I also would rather just teach to do it really,” Sera began to babble as she felt a nervous sort of excitement. “Maybe just something you can afford? I wouldn’t charge anything like a real studio.”
Although she did have familiar features, Ric was certainly that she didn’t have had a greater impact on his life. It was just one of those faces that you come across in your life and you remember, eventually, maybe days or years later – in that case, he couldn’t even try and guess how long it had been. “I am Cedric,” he offered his hand, “and you look familiar, but I don’t think we were ever introduced. I might have just seen you dance before.” He decided that it wasn’t polite to speculate about her medical condition and opted to stay grounded on the common topic – ballet. “I’ve been watching for years,” he laughed, “at first, very much forced by my parents, but later I grew to appreciate.”
“Cedric,” Sera noted with a gentle nod before accepting his hand and shaking it. “I’m Serafina. I’m flattered you even remembered me a little bit. It makes dancing all the more special to me,” she explained as she let her hand fall to her side. “It’s very nice to meet you,” Sera tacked on before smiling once more. “My parents put me into ballet but mine was more of a love at first step sort of thing. It’s been my life no matter what has happened. Anyways do you have a favorite Ballet? Of all the shows you must have seen I can’t help but wonder.”
The other woman’s words were a source of comfort for Lydia. She hadn’t considered that he might be genuinely confused; she just assumed he was a bit odd. “You’re right. Of course, he probably does have someone looking out for him. And the council would surely know,” she said, mostly to reassure herself he wasn’t in any danger being out there alone. She gave her a soft smile in return, gratefully. “Thanks. Oh, um, I’m Lydia. I should have probably said that first before panicking.”
“It’s quite alright. I forget to introduce myself all the time because of panicking,” Sera answered with a soft look. It only felt right to admit it because the other girl seemed a bit flustered. “I’m Serafina but you can call me Sera. It’s lovely to meet you.”

“I don’t even know who you are.” Andrei said shrugging, though getting a ride does sound nice. “How do I know you’re not like some mass murderer or something getting ready to kidnap me?” Andrei said joking slightly, okay, maybe not the best thing to say when you first meet someone.
“I’ve been kidnapped before. I can assure you I wouldn’t do that to anyone else,” Sera murmured softly her eyes flicking downwards to focus on her dashboard.
“That’s true, he did seem a bit confused,” she agreed with the other girl. “Now I feel bad for him! I hope he has someone looking out for him. He was alone when he spoke to me and seemed happy and able enough to do his job but…” she let the sentence taper off.
“It’s very sweet of you to be concerned for him. I imagine he’ll be alright. Confusion can come and go quite a bit as I’ve learned lately. He probably has someone looking out for him but also good days where he came look out for himself,” Sera explained as she spoke from her own experience before flashing a gentle nervous sort of smile.
“See── now we can’t be friends. If you wanna pick afemale, your answer has to always be Black Widow. Always. Trained assassins over super powers any day. If not… Let’ssay Deadpool just comes in last and finishes of whoever is left? Because that’swhat little shits do.”
“Sorry to disappoint. I should have known better. Although I can say Deadpool would definitely be the type to do that. He may have even caused the fight just to begin with for his own amusement.”
Noticing the serious expression on her face, Akash simply rolled his eyes. “Slow ya roll. I was kidding. Don’t go into shock on me,” he said, adding a small smile to show he wasn’t annoyed or anything. “What kinda stuff like that is around here? It’ll make tucking her into bed a hell of a lot easier.”
“Oh,” Sera answered with a gentle laugh. She felt embarrassed for overreacting but her mind had simply done it without her being able to think. “I took ballet lessons all my life. I think that’s the best dance classes for all that. I imagine any kind of martial arts would be good for it as well. Although if you can afford either maybe you can find someone like me willing to spend time with her and teach her.”
“That could very well be it, I heard that some flowers and plants only like certain types of weather. Maybe this plant doesn’t like ours,” She shrugged her shoulders. The idea was a good one even if the woman didn’t seem confident about it.
“I don’t think I ever had a green thumb but I do know our weather is temperamental. Have you tried looking up the type of plant or anything?”
“It was so gorgeous Sera,” Nina smiled widely at her old friend as she walked closer to her as the dance had come to a close. “I’ve always loved seeing you dance,” She confessed. “I even saw you dance a couple times at competitions when we were younger. I used to always come with you to matches and cheer you on– it was kinda our thing,” She told the other. “Oh, you’re just as beautiful as ever,” Nina said honestly as she reached in for a hug.
Hearing the complimentary words made Sera’s heart sore in her chest. Something she had done before the big incident had stuck with her and was just the same. She felt so whole in that moment. “Thank you so much for saying so. Did I come to any sort of event of yours,” she asked curiously as she accepted the familiar hug and even hugged Nina back this time around.
August had been attempting to skateboard when he noticed the brunette haired girl from before. He recognized her right away, due to her striking features. The artist gave a small wave back at the woman as he waved back. He tried to do an ollie and turned around to face her and gritted his teeth as he had failed. The artist walked over to where she was sitting and found a place near her and looked over. “Hey, how’s it going?” He asked casually. “I guess i’m not so good at skateboarding but i’m trying to pick it up,” He confessed.
Watching as he tried to pull of one of the tricks she bit her lip when it seemed to go wrong. She waved her hand in a dismissive movement as if to tell him to shrug it off. “It’s going well,” Sera answered with a smile as he sat beside her and spoke. “Oh well you won’t find any judgement here. You don’t start off amazing at things most of the time. It’s the work you put into it that matters. Anyways how have you been?”
