Sometimes all you can do is lie in bed and hope to fall asleep before you fall apart.
— William C. Hannan
I’m tired, where is joy
The joy is all gone today
Guess I’ll sleep again.
nothing has changed.
the plot,
still the same.
even now,
here I am,
staring blankly as Rome collapses around me
-" rome"
Change is Universal
I am changing in ways no one taught me how to name
Not like a wound closing but like something hardening where feeling used to be
I catch myself grieving for the person who flinched less who believed the world might soften if they stayed gentle long enough
Now I move quieter I choose my words like exits I leave rooms before they can leave me
This isn’t growth they write about its subtraction Its learning which parts of myself the dark can keep without killing me
I don’t feel reborn I feel rearranged a shape made to survive pressure not beauty
If this is change it isn’t hopeful its necessary
stars dying across the cosmic plains. a sea of nothing, once containing everything, doomed to rot and wither away.
celestial everythings, terrestrial nothingness, the earth reached a state of equilibrium between dark and light. all there's left is grey.
all things must pass through the filter made of bloody war. gone are the days of peace and prosperity. gone of the days of wishful hope. the dull expanse of the everyday comes to a close once more.
have you ever typed a message but halfway through you think "you know what, they don't even care" and deleted
Devoid of Meaning
I'm sick and tired of talking about me,
I'm bored of watching people portraying a worried and anxious face,
eager to talk about themselves
and how they relate to what I just said.
Hell, I probably do the same.
I guess I'm just done with this mediocre journey of human emotion.
Is it really necessary to talk in order to connect?
Let's not pretend we care,
and allow the pure honesty of silence to take over.
And the truth is not behind the eyes,
it's behind a mask,
so don't even bother searching for it.
You're never going to find it.
°
We are all tremendously flawed.
We are all capable of feeling unloved, or of unloving.
We are all prone to be caught by traps,
to be deceived by desire and tell some lies,
yes, all doomed to let other people down.
We say we live for ourselves but truly, we live for others.
We push and pull and wonder if it's worth the trouble,
believing everything is so complex
when actually, it's all really devoid of meaning.
I'm faithless and this is a shitshow I don't buy.
°
But what else can I do?
I am tremendously flawed,
so I follow because I don't want to be left to the flood,
and I don't want to feel unloved.
Man, I'm just so tired.
What with issues and being unavailable,
I feel this knot in my heart,
would you please be kind enough to hear me out?
I may be kind enough to hear about yours.
I really am sorry,
but I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere.
It all fits until it all falls apart,
so really,
why even bother?
°
Yes, I know I should bother. I actually do.
I'm just thinking, what if I didn't?
What if I just flowed with time; untroubled, indifferent, and fucked everything up?
I would love that.
(and who's gonna lose me?)
“How do you move on? You move on when your heart finally understands that there is no turning back.”
