I'm partially doing this for myself because I desperately need to start investing in new clothes, but here's some info on each of these and I'll add a few more options that I've had luck with.
Price: Listed from $ to $$$$. With $ being comparable Shein/Walmart pricing, $$ being comparable to JCPenny/Macy's, $$$ being slightly more expensive (think like 60 to 80 dollar pants) and $$$$ being items over $100
Sizing: Usually in XL and Waist size
Options: a description of the types of clothes they sell and sometimes what vibe they give off.
Options: Shorts (on the shorter side), Jerseys, underwear, and swim
I only browsed for a bit, but this seems like an aggregator of other site’s clothes. It is helpful for if you’re just generally trying to get a feel for what’s out there, but the filtering options are limited. It doesn’t let you filter by sizes and when I tried to have it just show shirts, I was still getting pants in my search results.
A few cheaper options and a few more expensive, but mostly somewhere in the middle. T-Shirts are definitely on the lower end price wise, dressy/casual shirts are in the middle, and pants on the higher end costing about twice what you’d pay at a JCPenny or Macy’s (if they actually sold fat people clothes).
Sizing – up to 10xl in shirts and a 72 W in pants with an option of hemming for ~$8
Options: Basic T-Shirts and Casual Shirts, Shorts, Pants, Jeans, Activewear, Swim, and underwear/Pajamas. There’s nothing too niche/fancy, but you could get your whole wardrobe from here.
The prices here are reasonable, especially for the hoodies.
Sizing – Binders go up to a 5xl, shorts went up to a 3xl and some shirts/hoodies went up to a 5xl but others only went up to a 2xl.
Options: Hoodies, Shorts, T-shirts, and binders. If you want to show off your pride, this place is probably your best bet. Most of the apparel is based around pride flags and have fun designs. The shorts are especially fun design-wise and great if you’re looking for something less basic.
Price - $ to $$ depending on sales
Sizing – Up to a 4xl and a 44 W. The exception were stretchier pants that went up to a 4xl (48/50 W), but this size was usually sold out.
Options: Shirts, Jackets, Jeans, Pants, Shorts, Sweatpants, Swim. Like with King Size, you could probably get you’re whole wardrobe here, but the selection feels less basic.
Price - $ to $$ depending on sales
Sizing – Some shirts and shorts/pants go up to 5xl while most pants only go up to a 44/46. Some items cap out as small as L, but this seems to be an issue with the site showing non plus size items in the plus size section.
Options: Shirts, Jackets, Jeans, Pants, Shorts, Loungewear, Sweaters, and Suits. You can again stock your whole wardrobe with clothes from here. It has a bit more style than basics, but what really surprised me were the affordable dress clothes options.
Quick Rundown: The only plus-size parts of the selection here are the pants/shorts/swim. There is a wide variety of basic dress pants and jeans and a lot of them go up to at least a 44 W with a few going up to 54 W. There are also a couple pairs of shorts that go up to a 54 W. Most of these are between $90 and $150.
Price - $$ to $$$$ depending on Brand (brands like tommy Bahama, vineyard vine, and ralph lauren costing significantly more than the rest of the apparel)
Sizing – up to 6xl in shirts and 62 W in pants
Options: Shirts, pants, shorts, activewear, pajamas, underwear, swim, suits, outerwear. You can get an entire wardrobe here and have more style than if you bought it from King Size, but you’re also paying a bit more.
Extra: It does help that they also have store locations if you want to try on items in person before you buy or if you need to do exchanges. IDK if this was just the store I went to, but the employee also measured me and helped me figure out what size would fit best when I was looking for dress clothes.
Sizing – up to 48 W and up to a 5xl (though some items in the plus size section, especially activewear, only went to a 2xl or 3xl)
Options: Shirts, pants, jeans, pajamas, polos, swim, shorts, and underwear. The offerings are very basic, but the prices are generally cheap. If you’re looking for basics to start your wardrobe off and are on a budget, this is probably one of the best bets.
Sizing – up to 8xl in shirts and 56 W in pants, but some items only come in slightly smaller sizes (6xl and 52 W) Someone pointed out that these sizes are Australian, so be sure to check the conversion
Options: Shirts, Jackets, Jeans, Pants, Shorts, Swim, Suits. They have the basics but also some items that are a bit more stylish.
Sizing: Up to 4XL and 48 W
Options: Shirts, Pants, Jeans, Swim, Activewear, Jackets/Coats. Old Navy is pretty comparable to Target in terms of price and fashionability, but it does have more options (especially for activewear)
Sizing: up to a 60 W for pants and 4xl for most shirts
Options: Mostly Jeans, but also shirts and Jackets. Wrangler has a more western style and sells mostly denim. If that’s what you’re looking for, this is a good place to look.
This store looks like its in the EU? They go up to an 8xl and the selection is pretty big but I can’t comment on the prices because its in Euros. They seem to be in the $ to $$ area though.
Big Boy Season 365 and Limitless XL
IDK what's up with these, but the links both gave me security warnings
This is one of my favorite places to get graphic T-shirts
Price: Shirts are between $14 and $24 depending on sizing and sales (I usually wait until there is a sale and get them for $16 because there are frequent sales).
Sizing: up to a 5xl, they are nice and roomy
Options: It's literally just t-shirts, but there are thousands of designs and the search function works great. It's where I get most of my anime inspired Tees.
My other favorite place to get graphic T-shirts
Prices: between $16 and $30 depending on sizing and sales (they have sales everyday, but the designs on sale change daily).
Options: Again, just t-shirts. But there are so many that you will definitely find something you're into.
This is definitely niche clothing, but they have stuff that would be good to wear to a renfaire as well as more goth-y options
Sizing: up to a 4xl and 50 W for some items
Options: Shirts, pants, shorts, jackets, tunics, vests, coats.
Again, more goth-y. I've bought things from here before and they did run a little small so be aware and maybe size up.
Options: Sweaters, Joggers, t-shirts, and hoodies. It feels like there is less now than when I ordered stuff here a couple years back.
More renfaire clothes, not all of it is size friendly so it does take some looking to find things.
Sizing: up to 5xl for tops and xxl for bottoms (for some reason)
Options: If you want to look like a pirate or a peasant, they've got you covered.
