Chapter 2 of my fic is up! Martin is really trying his best but things are not going his way currently.
This is a season 4 canon divergence fic where Jon ‘dies’ during the Unknowing and Martin is left to pick up the pieces. Featuring Beholding!Jon, lots of angst and a healthy dose of plot incoming.
Hello! Thank you for all the info you provide on the Good Omens musical! I was wondering, was "I didn't want you to go to Heaven" a sort of reprise of "I don't want to go to Heaven" or were they two entirely different songs? Also, do you remember something more about the Aziraphale, Hastur and the Holy light thing? I saw you mention it in one of your posts and it got me super curious. Thanks!
Glad you are enjoying the info! Its definitely the reason I am keeping this tumblr here so that I can talk about the musical! :)
To answer your questions, the “I didn’t want you to go to Heaven” is a reprise of the first song. Same tune, similar lyrics but with a focus on Crowley talking about Aziraphale instead of Aziraphale talking about Heaven. I think from memory it was also a little shorter since it was more of a reprise and a reaction from Crowley to what happened to Aziraphale.
As for the Hastur and the Holy light situation, I only really vaguely remember that. I can’t remember if it was in the newer version I saw (as the original post about it was from the first viewing back in 2017). From what little I remember, I think it happened just after Aziraphale bursts into Crowley’s flat since Crowley wasn’t answering and as an alternate to the whole telephone line situation that we get in the novel and the tv show. A way to remove Hastur from the situation since Ligur was already taken out by the holy water.
I think Aziraphale burst in and cast a prayer or called down the name of God on Hastur and he basically got like kicked out the window with holy light and just screamed for a long long time.
As I said though, I only remember a little bit of that scene and the Ligur stuff stuck with me more so I’m not sure if I’m confusing that! Sorry that I can’t provide more information on it.

I rarely use tumblr anymore except to post about the Good omens musical so I guess today I’m breaking that tradition to post a link to Magnus Archives fic I am working on!
Summary:
All it takes in the end is a single death to free them. The Dance grinds to a halt, the Archivist dies and the world shifts half a step to the left.
Former archival assistant Martin Blackwood pretends that the Entities and their avatars are gone for good. He lies to himself for months until people begin to go missing and all signs point to something terrible roaming the tunnels beneath the city. That something is watching the world above with a thousand eyes and it waits patiently.
This is a story about heartbreak and connection. And perhaps, a story about love.
This is gonna be multichaptered and a long exploration of what could have happened if things went a little bit different at the end of MAG 120. Featuring Beholding!Jon who has become more monster than human, a Martin who desperately needs a hug and a healthy dose of plot.
hi!! this may be a super dumb question considering how long it’s been since you’ve seen it, but do you remember anything about the “I Didn’t Want You To Go To Heaven” song from the good omens musical? (You don’t have to answer this)
A good question! It has been a few months since I saw the musical and unfortunately I don’t remember a whole lot of specifics about that scene.
From what I do remember, it takes place immediately after Aziraphale is discorporated in the whole Shadwell scene. Crowley actually witnesses it this time (I think), unlike the book and tv series. Crowley was returning to apologise after their fight and sees Aziraphale go so he then sings the song “I didn’t want you to go to heaven” as like a sad song where he sings about how Earth is better with him there.
It’s a very sad scene and a nice duo song with Aziraphale’s earlier “I don’t want to go to heaven” which is sung just after Aziraphale realises that Heaven is not good.
I remember really loving the whole segment as both of the characters come to realise that they are on their own side and they want to stay living on earth. A super lovely and touching moment.
You can see a snippet of Aziraphale’s version of the song in the sizzle reel for the musical here at about 4:45 into the video.
I wish I remembered more of it but that is what I do remember!
Is there any way to listen to/buy the Good Omens musical soundtrack? I sadly don't live in Australia and I'll probably never get a chance to see it.
Unfortunately not at the moment! The musical is still in development so the songs are still being changed and perfected as it’s not all set in stone yet. I hope when it has its official opening though that they’ll have a soundtrack that people can buy :) so keep an eye on their Instagram for any developments in that regard.
Some of you may have seen my posts floating around about the Good Omens musical that is currently being developed in Australia by an incredible team of people! I saw the original development reading back in 2017 and was lucky enough to see it in its new form complete with staging just last week!
It is an incredible INCREDIBLE musical that so accurately captures everything I love about the book and characters and oh boy guys you have no idea what you are in for when this blows up.
If you wanna see my thoughts on the new version, keep reading below!
Aziraphale was played by the same guy who I saw last time (and was JUST as excellent at him this time) but Crowley was someone new - who gave a really fascinating characterisation of Crowley as a bit of a sweeter demon and honestly I loved it
The guy who played Hastur was one of the most standout actors from the musical - brilliant singing, pulled off the character so well and really actually added to Hastur by making him this super grungy almost heavy-metal guy who had a lot of solo singing lines too!
ThAT SONG titled “I don't want to go to Heaven” was still there and I forgot how much I loved that entire scene. They had the old internet dialup sound as Aziraphale was trying to ‘connect’ to heaven with Metatron just kinda over the whole conversation as Aziraphale was singing about how Earth was so much better than Heaven after all
Ok but that whole scene with Aziraphale - he ends up tripping over the candles after attempting to run to Crowley because they had previously argued and he realised that he had been wrong - and he also says “Fuck” very VERY LOUDLY in that scene.
One way that they showed time passing was having the years pass on the screen behind and singing about the years that each new Pirates of the Caribbean movies came out
The Eden scene: Crowley was wearing snakeskin stuff and Aziraphale had a super gaudy jacket on
in the same scene, Aziraphale actually names him Crowley instead of Crawly and he is like “Ok I like that better”
All of the costumers were great, especially since it was a low-budget development staging. Aziraphale still had the little white bowtie which I was so happy about. Crowley had these great glasses and leather pants with shoes that had black velvet-like flames on them
Anathema sings a great song as she arrives in Tadfield about how Tadfield is a lovely place to die - very hilarious similarities to Belle’s song in Beauty and the Beast which was made even better by having someone appear as Gaston and she is like “Fuck you” to him when he tries to hit on her
Newt - super sweet boy who is all like “Oh ok this is a witch finder army? Sure I’ll just join in this looks like fun!”
Different take on Death as a character - a more sly, evil version but also worked really well in the context of the musical
Chattering Nuns - their song is just brilliant. I can’t put down into words
Another standout was the guy who played Ligur + the delivery guy + metatron +a whole bunch of other characters. He was in the previous one I saw and once again was just brilliant at everything and SO HILARIOUS
I saw it after just having re-read the novel and so I noticed this time a lot of the great lines from the book put directly into the show
There are some changes to the plot, especially the end segment but it works really well
Honestly, it’s been a week and I still can’t stop smiling every time I think about it. Seeing it brought to life on a stage was just magical. Thank you so much to Jim Hare, Jay James-Moody and Vicki Larnach for doing such incredible work on it.
If you haven’t already, please go follow their Instagram here to support them and see all the behind the scenes stuff.
Favourite songs after seeing it again: “All Living things” (so catchy you will not ever get it out of your head), “There’s a witch in your mind”, “The world in a magazine” and “I didn’t want to go to Heaven”

So since my Good Omens musical post is back and gaining interest again, thought I would update you all on the progress of it!
The musical is getting another few development showings in a few weeks (May 3-4) which I have tickets for so keep an eye out for my post following it! If you wanna stay updated on where the musical is at in the development stage, follow the official Instagram above!
A while back I made a super popular post about the Good Omens musical that is being developed in Australia and that I was lucky enough to see a developmental reading of. Even for something that is still in the process of being developed, it was already exceptional. The songs were catchy, the lines perfect and the performances so in line with the essence of what makes Good Omens GREAT.
I had a LOT of people express interest in finding out more about it.
I just discovered the link above which actually has some videos from the one I got to see. For anyone interested, check out the link and enjoy!
