They’ve just finished their meeting and Malik is rising from the table when Altaïr’s chest – squirms. Malik freezes. Altaïr has not looked up from the map they were looking over, but from the sudden tension in his shoulders, it’s intentional. His chest squirms again. “Altaïr,” Malik says slowly, “what – is that?” His voice comes out a little flatter than intended, more statement than question. “What is what?” Altaïr does not look up. He does reach one hand up to still the movement in his chest.

I want tired and exhausted Malik who complains constantly about his husband bit loves him with every fiber of his being, and Ezio preforming grand romantic gestures to Leonardo who keeps blushing and laughing, and Shay and Haytham being in a committed relationship when Connor shows up and deciding he needs guidance and love and adopt him as their son.

I want Altair and Malik, both in their mid-twenties scared out of their minds that they have to lead the whole brotherhood but realizing that when one lacks a skill the other usually has it. I want Malik sword fighting with cocky young assassins and beating their asses and shaming them for underestimating him for his lack of an arm, while Altair watches, mesmerized by Malik’s grace. Altair letting himself be young and silly with Malik because he has to be the stoic leader, master assassin at 25 (i think it was at 25 he got that rank) with everyone else. I want them reading through records and reports, both dozing before deciding to forget it for the night and get some sleep cuddled up next to each other. I wand snarky comments about snoring (Malik about Altair) and blanket hogging (Altair about Malik).

I want Ezio’s apprentices helping Leonardo with his errands. I want a Leonardo who is never ‘employed’ (captured) by the Borgia because he has money now (since he basically married rich). A Leonardo who never once has to think about turning down a commission he really doesn’t want to do, who can focus on whatever hes interested in at that moment. I want a Maria who won’t stop talking about her artist son in law, a Claudia who jokingly complains that she has to give Maria the grand kids now, a Mario who is baffled by Leonardo’s pacifist lifestyle but loves him for how happy he makes Ezio. 

I want Shay as the unofficial, but unquestioned co-leader of the Templars. I want Haytham asking for Shay’s opinion in front of the other high ranking templars before making his final decision. I want Haytham and Shay sleeping together on the Morrigan and the crew not even batting an eye because it happens all the time. Haytham who gets a little jealous when Shay flirts for information, even though he knows Shay would never cheat and trusts him completely. I want a brutally honest conversation about Connor when Haytham learns he exists (I can’t quite remember when that happens). I want Haytham who’s worried and assuring Shay that he’ll still be a respected Templar, second in command even if Shay wants to end their relationship. I want Shay to ask only one question before making his decision to stay with Haytham “Was he conceived before we got together?” because that’s all he cares about. They both have pasts with a lot of baggage and they’re both in it for the long haul with each other. I want Shay when he finds the box (using information gathered by others)  and he sees Arno and knows he can’t leave an orphan behind so he sails back to America with another son to add to their little family.
