Wednesday, the 5th of October

A messy desk that is comparable to the chaos in my head. It's almost lunch but I haven't opened any of my books yet though my day has started six hours ago. I had some urgent issues to solve at work before being able to turn towards my own paper. Due to some unforseeable circumstances that last night posed I haven't had the chance to write down my self care habits for the next few weeks up until university starts again. I want to take care of that before going to bed tonight.

just attended our ophtha class about disorders of uvea. I have afternoon classes so I’ll maximize my time to study and clean a little instead of sleeping. there are a lot of long exams this week I’m going to pull a lot of all nighters again. wish me luck!

Watching the lectures from yesterday in this beautiful library. I had an interview for my first job as a doctor when I‘m finished! That‘s why I couldn‘t attend the lectures. I‘m a little excited to get an answer from them. They told me they would answer until next week.

My 6th and last year starts on monday and my university still hasn‘t managed to give us our time table for this new semester. The audacity of some universities smh.

At the same time it expects us to be always free for lectures and courses and turn in our papers in time.?????

my social anthropology lecture was amazing yesterday because for the second half, we had two surprise guest speakers who were indigenous Amazonian anthropologists! it was so interesting to hear about their communities and also how they are telling the stories and experiences of their own cultures!

I went to 2 day conference to a really fancy hotel with unlimited drinks and food. I had a blast and learned a lot. I’m happy I was invited and hope to be again🤭

Tomorrow I’m going to work again. I need to save up some money before uni starts in a month.

i’m 3 weeks into my masters program and it’s been rough but i’m surviving and adjusting and starting to figure things out!

I’m back, still alive after a week of sleep deprivation because of exams. There’s no break in our institution so we had another exam this morning and classes the whole day. I went to the gym in the afternoon, did grocery, and now I’m all showered and cozy on the bed, watching To Catch a Thief.

I still have to finalize my ppt for tomorrow’s SGD (it sucks) but for now, I’ll enjoy my Hitchcock film. I love life’s little pleasures.

day 1: introduce yourself! what’s some basic info you’d like to share about yourself? what are you studying?

hey there! i’ve been here for a while, but i’m lama. i am a third culture kid and currently a senior in my last semester of university in washington, dc. i am studying interdiscplinary studies in comm, law, economics, and governemnt, followed by two minors in computer science and information systems and technology. i am also in my uni’s honors program, so i love learning, reading, and doing research. but i also love indie music, sitcoms, and now? baking.

day 2: why did you decide on your major?

i have thought about changing my major several times. but because i am interested in the intersections of policy, law, and technology such as algorthimic bias (ai in policing), data privacy rights, digital advocacy and equality (digital divide), and cybersecurity… i thought it was great to understanding technology through my minors, but also on the policy level through my major. it’s so much work, but i am almost there!
