BEATITUDE. to be honest, i have no idea what shizuka's personality is like in the japanese sub as i've only ever watched the english dub, but my personal interpretation of shizuka is, going based on my three years later setting after the series comes to a close, that she's still a somewhat timid & very compassionate individual. but, due to her being sixteen now, again in my three years later default, she's matured considerably; she's gained some knowledge & isn't as sorely naive & gullible as she initially was when she was thirteen. she's still high-spirited & that's never going to change, especially since she's got her pillar of strength, jounouchi. he makes her too happy for her to ever look at the negatives in life. shizuka has grown in many ways, she's more open & more likely to say what she feels; but she'll still keep in her comments to herself if she feels it isn't right to say something at that exact moment. & while she's grown much in three years, she's still very dependent & far too kind-hearted for the cruel world, but despite having acknowledged that, she's not the type to give up & she'll still progress with her head held high, through & through because she's that type of girl. she's more straightforward, more headstrong, more firm in her beliefs & such, more bubbly; shizuka has basically become the personification of joy itself.
