Hey all! I currently work at an interactive children’s science museum in Springfield, Missouri. With everything going on the with coronavirus, we had to limit our visitors to 250 (a standard day we get around 300, and 500 if busy), now the CDC is recommending we limit it to 50 people total, that includes our staff.

Because a few of us, like myself, rely entirely on income from this job, our director is doing his best to keep us open in some way. He set up this emergency fund, so we can stay open as a childcare facility for medical workers! We believe that especially during a crisis like this, medical workers shouldn’t have to worry about if they’ll have childcare on top of everything else. We will also offer free childcare to those who can’t afford it and classes about germs and keeping ourselves safe!

We’ve officially completed our first day as an emergency childcare facility! It was exhausting and hectic, but we were able to provide care to 90 children today. We’re still looking for funding to keep going and open up more spots, but even helping these families today is amazing. A lot of them were able to work because we opened our doors, and some of these parents even got a bit of a nap after their shift to relax before they do it all again tomorrow.

If anyone can donate, we currently need some small blankets for the younger kiddos, and we always need gloves/hand sanitizer/bleach/Lysol ic/paper products. If you can’t donate, reblogging this to help it get around is also helpful. The more people who see this, the more people we can help. Stay safe everyone!

I had a panic attack in my dream this morning and fell asleep on the kitchen floor, and my day didn’t get better somehow.

My partner needs to wear khaki pants to work this week (he has khaki and grey) and dream me i thought I’d be helpful and lay out his outfit with the extra time I had. Still in my dream I woke him up, he showered, I made food etc. He got out of the shower while I was cooking and looks around the corner and just says “I need khaki pants this week, and you have clearly given me camel brown!” I then had a panic attack and decided he was gonna lose his job because I laid out the wrong pants. Turns out sleepy me is just a dumbass.

All of this actually happened and it wasn’t a dream (which I didn’t find out til I brought it up this afternoon) but after he said that he laughed while I didn’t have a panic attack but instead just stared at him for 3 minutes straight with a look of horror on my face, then sat down and took a nap on the kitchen floor. Apparently he had to wake me up and i went through my entire morning routine again not even questioning why I woke up on the floor.
