well, for better or worse... i finished. general penacony thoughts.

setting wise? everything i dreamed and more. decopunk? optical illusions? narratives around commodifying human experiences such as dreams? surrealist dream sequences? SLOWBURN HORROR? i am a SUCKER for all of this.

character wise... this writing fell the flattest so far for me. ive played genshin and HSR since both of their respective launches and this is truly the least enthused ive ever been about a new cast as a whole. almost all of them failed to even remotely intrigue me if they didnt outright piss me off or bother me.

the exceptions to this are aven, acheron, and SAM <3. i cant wait to see more of those 3 and if i consider adding sam on here, stop me.

i hate cliffhangers that leave you needing explanations rather than conclusions so i cant say i was a fan of that.

overall i really did like it and the next patch has never felt so far away, but im really hoping the next updates sell me on the characters more. definitely more of a personal thing but i felt pretty disappointed by how bland i found most of them to be.
