Natural Black Hair Tutorial! Usually Black hair is excluded in the hair tutorials which I have seen so I have gone through it in depth because it’s really not enough to tell someone simply, “Black hair is really curly, draw it really curly.”

it makes me really uncomfortable when people say stuff like ‘cis, trans, /and/ nonbinary’ tbh because that implies they don’t consider nb people as trans, like it’s a way for people to separate the ~true~ trans people from the ‘transtrenders’

I really don’t see why differentiating ‘trans’ as ‘binary trans’ and non-binary leads to ‘true trans vs transtrenders’. It’s possible to have trans and non-binary as distinct, but also understand ‘trans discourse’ as all-inclusive. Or at least, this is the kind of thing I’ve noticed a lot in general social rights discussions, but whether or not it’s correct or clear is a whole different matter.

I have to admit though I’m kind of leery about the thought of us falling under the ‘trans’ label because I have pretty much never seen people expressing the desire to call themselves ‘binary trans’, and I am extremely not okay with things I’ve seen involving genderqueer folk trying to shout over binary transfolk, arguing that we’re ‘essentially the same, we’re trans too’. In your words…it’s kinda gross. Obviously, the former doesn’t DEFINITELY lead to the latter, but you can probs see why I’m like ‘yeah im not sure if I’m down w/ this’ 

Also like...self-interested comment here, but I appreciate 'cis, trans, and nonbinary', because I'm arguably nonbinary, but definitely don't ID as trans.
