Miss Mexico Fátima Bosch has been crowned Miss Universe 2025. She faced controversy when Thai director Nawat Itsaragrisil called her ‘dumb' during a live event. This year's Miss Universe pageant took place on November 21, 2025, at the Impact Challenger Hall in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, Thailand. The bitcoin faithful are turning to one of their most vocal evangelists for a sign amid an intensifying market rout. His message? HODL.

We're talking about Michael Saylor, chief of Strategy (MSTR), the enterprise software company known for stockpiling bitcoin. The price of the world's most valuable cryptocurrency has been falling lately, and rumors broke out on social media that the company was selling amid the slide. Saylor dismissed those rumors, but the notion that latched onto the possibility that the man who might be bitcoin's best-known bull was turning tail shows the negativity radiating from the market at present.1

As X users started to fret, Saylor posted an image of himself on a life raft as a burning ship sank behind him. "HODL," he said, using an acronym for "hold on for dear life."2

The sell-off in risk assets this week—a bleed that the end of the U.S. government shutdown couldn't stem—has put a dent in the price of bitcoin and the narrative that it could be a useful hedge against stocks or a safe haven like gold. Bitcoin sank below $95,000 on Friday morning to levels not seen since early May. Some crypto-linked stocks diverged, with MicroStrategy declining about 4%, while Coinbase Global (COIN), and Robinhood (HOOD) were up at least 1%.

Louisiana Congressman Stands Alone Against Unanimous Vote for Epstein Files Release

The U.S. House of Representatives has overwhelmingly passed a bill to release all documents from the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. The vote on the Epstein Files Transparency Act was 427 to 1. The sole dissenting vote came from Republican Congressman Clay Higgins of Louisiana.

This decisive action compels the Department of Justice to disclose all unclassified materials related to the federal probe. The move aims to provide unprecedented public transparency into the case.

A Principled Stand for Privacy and Procedure

Congressman Higgins defended his lone “nay” vote in a detailed statement. He posted his explanation on the social media platform X. Higgins stated he was a principled “no” on the bill from its beginning.

He argued the legislation abandons 250 years of American criminal justice procedure. According to his statement, the bill would reveal and injure thousands of innocent people. This includes witnesses, individuals who provided alibis, and family members.

Target cuts 1,800 corporate jobs in its first major layoffs in a decade

Target said on Thursday it’s cutting 1,800 corporate jobs as the retailer tries to get back to growth after four years of roughly stagnant sales.

It marks the first major round of layoffs in a decade for the Minneapolis-based retailer. It announced the layoffs in a memo sent by Target’s incoming CEO Michael Fiddelke to employees at its headquarters.

The eliminated roles are a combination of about 1,000 employee layoffs and about 800 positions that will no longer be filled, a company spokesman said. Together, they represent an approximately 8% cut to Target’s corporate workforce, according to the memo. Affected employees will be notified Tuesday.

Cloudflare down as parts of the internet grind to a halt

It has been reported that large parts of the internet have struggled to load this afternoon, possibly due to an issue at Cloudflare.

Cloudflare has confirmed an issue is ongoing and it has already seen some services recover, but that customers may continue to observe higher-than-normal error rates as it tries to fix the problem.

The company said online that it is investigating the issue, posting on its Cloudflare System Status page: “Cloudflare is experiencing an internal service degradation. Some services may be intermittently impacted. We are focused on restoring service. We will update as we are able to remediate. More updates to follow shortly.”

Visitors to websites like X (formerly Twitter) and film reviewing site Letterboxd have seen an error message that indicated Cloudflare issues were the cause, according to The Independent.
