He was relived really, Frankenstein understood and although he felt guilty for acting how he was even though he wasn’t aware of it he couldn’t take that out of his mind. When it comes to the medical and research sides of things Frankenstein was the expert not him, but it still wasn’t something he was willing to just overlook as if it were nothing. Trauma does change someone, but he just isn’t sure to what extent since he doesn’t even know who he himself was in the past.
“I can promise you that I will try something to work on that. I don’t want my instincts to take over to the extent that I can’t differentiate between what’s a threat and where my home is.” It’s not right.
Frankenstein’s words still gave him some peace of mind though, and he was more than able to answer that bit at least. “I guess knowing that it’s you down here gives me peace of mind that I know I’m not in any danger or that I’ll be experimented on without my consent. You’re not a Union researcher who throws lives away as if they were nothing nor do you think like they do. Their greed for power is so strong that when they get frustrated they would take it out on us. We were their ‘stress’ relievers, Jake himself was a prime example that if anyone got on his bad side he didn’t care, he would kill you on the spot and in front of us all to teach us a lesson.” He killed so many of our friends.
“This lab is clean, it’s fresh, it’s welcoming and warm and holds fond memories as well. Like the ramen tests as well as the cookies made. Not to mention that you take care of us here when we’re not well or injured. Here I am safe and I know that, with Union, I was never safe.” Here I can rest and sleep without fear because I know we’re alive and well and we all watch one another’s back.
◤ The scientist didn’t know how much he needed to hear those words. He needed to be reassured that m-21 didn’t hate or fear him. He would have accepted it if he did, after all he was a scientist. He had to close his eyes to stop himself from letting his deep emotions show through. He hide those away, always being the calm analytical one. After the moment was over, and he was able to control his emotions he looks at the other again. “It is good to work on your own healing, but be sure not to put to much stress on yourself. There is no shame in feeling afraid. Be sure you don’t become obsessed with healing, and lose yourself in the process.” he hoped his words were making it through.
As for the mention of the lab he smiles. “Hey! Those ramen experiments were 100% legitimate scientific experiments!” he teases easily trying to lighten the mood. “I’m offended.” He huffs in fake hurt, clearly teasing the other. He chuckles, “I am glad though. That you not only feel safe here in my lab but have fond memories here...it means a lot to me.” He says honestly letting some of emotions show. ◢
