I like it how they’re badass battlers and actually know their moves here. Also, they are Kanto Pokemon so that’s what you would expect. They can still be concerned about those two Pokemon. But they can still be pissed off and bent on destroying Ash. With HYPER BEAM!
Seems like a good balance so far. Babies in one short scene, badass in the next because it’s action time - and nothing too jarring.
