also see the thing about seth getting stabbed with the unforgiving blade is that. he FELT himself turning into one of the undead when it pierced him. and even though the process stopped when the blade was removed the change was still THERE he was still stuck in this state of being half-undead half-alive. which was just. horrible. just woke up and started thinking about it so i don't have the actual quote on me but i think while he's getting stabbed he experiences literal centuries' worth of living as an undead being via his own mind seeing it map out before him + the power of the blade. no WONDER he was begging orogoro to just kill him but still. head in my hands
The darkness of the blade seeped into him. And he was also being drawn into the blade. His life force ebbed toward eternal night.
Seth saw the path to joining the undead. He would reach the end of the path before long, as a wraith or a revenant. No longer alive, incapable of death, his existence would continue, devoid of warmth, without sleep, without peace, without hope. On and on his misery would persist for ages uncounted. He witnessed the agonizing reality as clearly as if it were in the past.
And then Orogoro pulled out the blade.
Seth stared up at the demon uncomprehendingly. Was he still in the field of clover? Was life still happening around him? What had he experienced while the blade was in him? Visions. Horrible, indelible visions.
He had seen himself. Unable to die.
yeah “on and on for ages uncounted as clearly as if it were in the past.” absolutely fucked scene and this isn’t even all of it
