@seucin
a really good sewing box
once again if you don't already boycott western luxury brands for all of their problematic stuff and wildly expensive / unethical prices, what are you doing honestly because these brands also heavily participate in cultural appropriation. in case you haven't heard about LV suing a chinese tea brand 'molly tea' for trademark infringement over flower design patterns that have actually been in used in chinese culture and history for over centuries, most well known in tang dynasty artifacts, it is time for you to read up on it and boycott western luxury brands like -
LV (cultural appropriation),
DIOR (cultural appropriation and never once apologized or took down their products when called out - mamianqun),
Van Cleef & Arple's (cultural appropriation without giving credit - four leaf clover design from chinese culture over 2000 years)
Givenchy (cultural appropriation without giving credit - their iconic logo vs chinese culture's huixingwen / huixing pattern since 4000 years ago at least)
Gucci (cultural appropriation without giving credit - their iconic GG logo vs the same pattern that found on ancient china's warring states artifacts 400-200+ BC)
Celine (cultural appropriation without giving credit - celine's double c logo and
and so many more brands that i could not list right now like Goyard, Cartier, and non-western based brands too or entertainment media from other countries like especially those within the sinosphere where the cultural appropriation gets hard to determine
you might think that 'it can't be possible, chinese are just overreacting as usual' but if someone is pointing out things like this and being upset, and could bring up proofs, the least you could do is listen. here's a good place to start to know why chinese people are growing more uncomfortable with these brands taking inspiration (regardless of their lack of admission) bc after so long of being the receiving end of baseless accusations and fear-mongered against by sinophobic western propaganda, the case of lv suing against molly tea and winning the case is deeply upsetting.
ending this post for now before it gets too long and people get tired of reading, boycott luxury brands and support the original !!
