The vortex redesign is not racist. The way people are '''criticizing'''' it are, and his default design is not some unique staple on blackness in design, its the standards companies give when they need to make a black character.

A character wearing a durag IS punk, Vortex is showing off his blackness that's shunned by society, gov, and stereotypes, that IS punk.

You can wear a durag and grills and dog tags and be punk and chill

You are operating from a very white perception of blackness, punk and respectability politics

if you unironically believe the vortex design is racist by lin, please look into educating yourself about respectability politics and the stereotype that anyone who looks black, is dark or expresses black culture """is a street trope racial profiling thug"( these are all real things people said about the design.)

What race do you think Mammon would be, as well as his daughters, if they were humans?

Hmm for Mammon I think maybe he'd be australian+white, maybe mixed with a indian parent in my hc, I think if born a human he'd be from a very pampered family that's always worked music and acting industry, which is why he works as a circus runner later. I think I'd also give Mammon long hair he flaunts for photos and attention as a human, maybe he'd also paint his nails

for his daughters, the au where they have a bio mom and it isnt mammon making them with his magic they'd be half chinese since my sheep lady [their mom Lunaris] is chinese :)

my only criticism is the hair shape and that he isnt fluffy enough, other than that, im pretty okay with this being one of the characters that maintain the pink or the red aesthetic of the show (i actually think all of them being red is a good idea! It just needs complementry colours like how Heaven has yellow, white AND blue, hell should have red, black, and a third colour that isnt white.)

I think heaven and hell's colours should be split, one shade, two colorus

My alastor redesign proposals. Halfway through i just started throwing random shit at the wall. I'm leaning towards the ponytail over the shoulder. I think it adds to him. I tried (and probably failed) to keep the shame of the hair they were going for before

Borealis ref! they use any pronouns but prefer they/them, and I sort of had the idea of both a magician but a bodyguard in a tux as well so maybe the design will be subject to change! Considering swapping out bird feet for some sort of heavily stylized heel. They're stoic and reserved. Full name is Roimata Borealis Frost Caster
