Who are you and what's your deal ?
Well I'm....Dr. Mia Lockswood. Im going to guess by "what's your deal" you're asking what exactly I do- I'll link a previous ask here to kind of explain the basics of the SCP foundation, in case you haven't heard of it. But, I'm a researcher for the foundation. I've been here for about 4 years now, I started fresh out of graduation working specifically with marine/aquatic SCPs. A couple years ago I had what should have been a fatal accident with one of them and thus learned through that expirience that I had developed an anomaly of my own.
That anomaly was the inability to be hurt by SCPs or their effects. So the negative, harmful anomalous effects of the different SCPs do not effect me, and they can not conciously choose to hurt me. Like my friend Aster, has the anomalous ability to kill those he touches. However his touch is not lethal to me. Anymore, anyway. It didn't used to be that way. We also learned later on that I can also tell hostile SCPs what to do, to a degree. Commands can wear off, and when that happens isn't really consistent. How and why is unknown. But they feel an overwhelming compulsion to obey. I also have to be incredibly specific, one time I told 682 to return to his cell and while he did, he continued causing harm to others on the way back. So if I am not careful with my word choice, and they're intelligent, they will find loopholes. I also have to be fast enough to actually verbalize the command otherwise they can still effect me, Ive been to slow to tell 106, Larry, to stop and go back to containment and he threw me into his pocket dimension and....well I mean he couldn't kill me but that was still an expirience I didnt enjoy, and demonstrates that there are some limitations to my immunity but that is the only one known so far. Im not always able to be fast because I am also sick, I have chronic fatigue, among like 4 or 5 other conditions that can make me just very slow, and moving hurts- its not an every day thing but...also it kind of is.
And when I found out about my anomaly as well I knew that the foundation was going to want to contain me and view me as a threat to security, but also a potentially powerful containment tool. I was able to gain access to a newer SCP, or well it was new at the time. It was a stack of totally normal looking copy paper with reports of having caused the downfall of a bank in Colorado. When contracts are printed on this copy paper, the person who signs and agrees to what is written on the paper is then bound to it, and if they try to outright break said contract it causes the signer to suffer some form of loss. The bank in Colorado, the building itself, went from being a sturdy brick building into a pile of rubble within a matter of 10 minutes. And I got the foundation to sign the contract and later then let them know it was on this copy paper. Because while I am okay being contained, having my freedoms stripped away into having to ask permission for everything all of the time- and having seen the way that the foundation treats the SCPs... I knew what was going to happen to me if I didn't act. My illness already limits me so much. More constrictions just wasnt something I could handle. I mean goodness they technically view me now as less as a human and more as a humanoid SCP.
But being the impervious SCP, the impervious woman, whatever- its opened up opportunities and such that weren't available to me before. My command capabilities has got me put in on projects with the containment specialists. And they use me for testing because Im able to do better in gathering data than your typical D-class (death row inmates we typically use for testing). The three most consistent things that occur are 1. No real harm comes to me 2. I can exert some form of control over SCPs I percieve as having dangerous capabilities and 3. If the SCP is a place, I always find a way back home.
So that is who I am and that is my deal.
