It hurts our hearts to write this, but due to extensive personal matters on the admin end, Seven Spirits will be going on an indefinite hiatus. This rp is very important to both of us, and we feel very strongly that opening now would be irresponsible and unfair to the players and to the rp as a whole. We recognize that this decision is also considerably unfair to the players, but it’s still the one that has to be made. 

To our players: we want to extend an utmost apology to you. You have poured an incredible amount of energy and heart into your characters. You all are incredible writers and people, and when the time comes — we anticipate players as well. Because you have already been accepted, you will absolutely have first priority over your characters come our official opening.

To the applicants in our inbox: we’re very sorry, but right now we are not prepared to post any more acceptances. When we open, the first thing we will do is hold an acceptance for you. Thank you for your patience. 

In this moment, we cannot provide any information regarding an opening date, but soon as we are able to, we will post an announcement regarding the status of Seven Spirits. Presently, we just need some time to process, heal, and sort some things out.

Hey! Not sure if y’all have seen but if you look at the App Count, you’ll notice the two reserved characters have had applications submitted for them! Unfortunately, due to some personal issues on the admin end, we have to wait a day before accepting them. 

Because of our delay, we feel it’s only fair to give everyone an extra day for the second acceptance, so we’re pushing it to July 16th at 10pm PST (1am EST). Additionally, this will push opening day to July 19th!

And with that, we’ve finished our first round of acceptances! Again, we’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone for your support of SevenSpirits. To those accepted, congratulations! We’re thrilled to share the world of Ansong with you, and look forward to seeing you all on the dash. We encourage all those who applied to send in another application as we had to make some very hard decisions tonight.

On to logistics: there are still five open characters! We will have a mini-acceptances for the two characters who have been reserved as soon as the applications show up in our inbox (Wither and Vermin). Our second official acceptance will be on July 15th — our submit will close at 10pm PST (1am EST), and as we decide on acceptances, we will post announcements throughout the night.

After this, our official opening date will be July 18th! We’re so very excited to write with everyone then!!

Congratulations, Taryn! You’ve been accepted to play the role of Gleam (Ashley Moore FC).

Gleam’s competition was really tight; everyone who applied for them poured a lot of heart into their application. But Taryn, yours nailed every last detail. With Gleam’s skeleton, there was a lot of room for interpretation, but you managed to identify the truly fundamental elements of the character: their aloneness, their thirst for the skies. Not just this, but you managed to transform Gleam into a character entirely your own. We loved your construction of Yve. We loved watching her grow from gentle and raw, swathed in amber — into a poised daggar of a indispensability. Yve is, without a shadow of a doubt, everything we wanted from Gleam and more. There were so many details that you revealed, just enough to give us a taste, but not too much that she lost her air of mystery: like her relationship with her mentor, her position amongst her thieves, and of course, her pet tiger. You did an incredible job with your application, Taryn. You’ve constructed the beginning of a story we want so badly to read along. Congratulations on your acceptance into SevenSpirits! Ansong’s skyward bandit is all yours.

Congratulations, Lena! You’ve been accepted to play the role of Harvest (Bob Morley FC). 

Lena, the imagery you weaved through your application was absolutely splendid. Details — the touch of soil on bare skin — nets of sky decorated with stars — allowed us to experience the world beside Nirel as he grew. There was a richness to the way you illustrated his connection to the earth: “always a primal sensation — like he was meant to care for the land like his own kin;” it made it all the more heartbreaking when his family was ripped away from him and Nirel was violently uprooted from the soil he’d once known. The loss of innocence that came with witnessing the darker side of human nature still couldn’t strip Nirel of his good heart, though, and that scrap of dogged (albeit fragile) warmth endeared us to him even further. Now, with his confidence, bond with the earth, and belief in humanity fractured, we can only wonder if his experiences at Jeishen will plant another seed of hope in him, or destroy what little he has left. Again, amazing job, and we’re so excited to write with you.

Congratulations, Chayya! You’ve been accepted to play the role of Loyalty (Alexandra Shipp FC). 

Reading your application was an absolute joy, and it was clear from very early on that you were the right choice for Loyalty. Before we even got to your biography section, the connections that you drew between yourself and Dani made us confident that you would be able to do her the justice she deserved. When we got to the actual content, your portrayal of Dani screamed Loyalty! We loved your headcanon about her family, and the headcanon about how she feels towards her family’s spirit was something we hadn’t even considered but made perfect sense for Loyalty. The amount of detail you went into with Dani’s family life, coupled with the vibrant energy of Dani herself made you the obvious choice for her player. Congratulations, Chayya! We’re so excited to see Dani on the dash.
