SCOUPS
Would talk a big talk about how capable he is of setting up camp. You would be hiking all day, a little farther into the woods than you’d intended because Seungcheol kept urging you to keep hiking, even though you were tired. So you end up in a weird place without much clear ground to pitch the tent on, but Seungcheol insists that it’s the perfect spot. Pretty much everything goes wrong! Your tent poles snap ? the ground is too wet for the fire to get going, it’s starting to get dark... Seungcheol ends up pouting, his pride wounded after you set up the spare tent you brought and the fire, saying he’ll only smile again if you hand feed him s’mores. 🙄
HANNIE
You don’t go camping with Jeonghan, you go camping with Hannie. Hannie looks like a princess but actually likes catching bugs and roughing it! He’s so cute camping it’s crazy. You keep turning around thinking that you’ve lost him but he’s just crouching looking at a leaf he thinks is pretty. Then you have to run to him before he touches it in case it’s poisonous! Hannie is chaotic! And adorable! He’s getting into all kinds of almost-dire situations on this trip. You end up exhausted every night trying to keep up with his fearless approach to the forest, but then he cuddles into you under the stars and you forget he ever did anything wrong!
JOSHUA
Somehow has the best equipment and knows exactly where to go and what to do! The surprises are endless with this guy! He wants to go cliff diving, he wants you to take a picture of him hanging from a really tall branch, he wants to explore a very suspicious and scary-looking cave... Joshua is a risk-taker! And the great outdoors do not scare him! He would eventually pick up on your exhausted expression but he would ignore it haha because he’s having too much fun! Only to surprise you again with how extremely cuddly and sleepy he is by the end of the day.
JUN
why are you bringing a domesticated cat into the woods! pouts about not bringing enough food, forms a hostile relationship to the bugs, stays secured inside the hood of his sweatshirt all day and into the evening until you make him some hot chocolate over the camping stove you brought and he perks right up. would get bored and want to explore the forest, which you discourage because it’s too dark now. you didn’t know what to expect camping with moon junhui, but somehow you have a singularly fun time.
HOSHI
So fun to go camping with! Hoshi is a good sport with a lot of energy, so he’s an ideal hiking companion. He’s good at staying on track, setting up camp, making the food and keeping it safely out of any animal’s reach... you guys have a blast and take a bunch of cute pictures in front of the fire. You cuddle to sleep under the stars! Hoshi loves the outdoors, especially with you!
WONWOO
He'll be the first to admit that he's not the most outdoorsy person but he also doesn’t want you to think he’s incapable so he spends the weeks leading up to the trip researching tips and good equipment/brands online. You can tell that he wants to impress you, because he keeps cutely telling you fun facts the plants on the path and what to watch out for. You tease him for acting so reluctant to go camping when he clearly ‘knows his stuff’ lol. Sweet Wonwoo would be so cute about a camping trip with you.
WOOZI
Hates this idea lol. Woozi is for the indoor girlies. It’s not like he HATES the outdoors, but he’d much rather have a quiet getaway in a nice hotel, or even a cabin. You guys would compromise by renting one of those posh Airbnb tiny houses in the woods. It’s got amenities and great views of nature, so you’re both happy and end up having a fabulous time together.
THE8
Minghao and you go camping all the time! You both love being out in the quiet of nature, and have a fun time hiking around, gently observing the good views of the forest together, and meditating by a stream/waterfall together. Very peaceful activity for both of you and you make a point to go camping together at least a few times a year!
MINGYU
Capable king. Even if he doesn’t camp that often, he is good at it. His biggest challenges are fitting inside the tent and getting scared from random noises at night. But you think it’s cute how he goes from sexy mountain man to scared little baby so fast. He wakes you up in the middle of the night because he thinks he can hear a bear. it turns out to be a cute little raccoon. but that doesn’t matter because Mingyu screams loud anyway, trying to shoo it away from your garbage. Camping with Kim Mingyu is fun!
DK
I can’t imagine a more unserious person to go camping with. He would be super gung-ho at first and react really cutely to all of the beautiful nature (pretty much all he says for the first hour or so of your hike is “Wow!!” and “YN look at this!”) but he gets more and more annoyed with all of the bugs and then gets very scared when it gets dark. Luckily you set up camp before it gets too dark out, but DK is still clinging to you for protection. He excitedly agrees to your challenge of a s’mores eating contest to distract him but he ends up complaining—saying he ate too much while pouting and blaming you. Never a dull moment with DK!
SEUNGKWAN
You initially scoffed (before you could hide it) when Seungkwan suggested that you two take a camping trip, but now that you’re here at the campsite, it’s really nice! You realized that Seungkwan’s version of camping is more like glamping, which you’re lowkey relieved about because you weren’t sure if you could handle really roughing it with Seungkwan overnight. But you end up barbequing together and getting a little tipsy—laughing and talking very late into the night together.
VERNON
Very comfortable with letting you take the lead as you hike and is helpful setting up the camp but not exactly experienced. He hasn’t been camping since he was a kid and he doesn’t try to hide it haha. Vernon is so cute. He does exactly what you tell him to do and gets really excited to make smores. His whole expression is filled with wonder, like he’s discovering the great outdoors for the first time.
DINO
Would put on an impromptu performance by the campfire (which was set up mostly by you but he insists he was the one that really got it to light). But you two make a perfect camping trip team. You’re the logistics and he brings the pizazz. You end up camping at pretty close to other people, but you enjoy the less isolated vibe as you drink and grill into the night!
William, who drags his long nails over your back in a soothing gesture, gently washing away the stress of the day.
Harrison, who softly reads out the latest book he bought, as you resist falling asleep on his shoulder.
Liam, who gives you a head massage, trained fingers running over with firm yet gentle scratches.
Elbert, whose arms are less of a cage, and more of a sanctuary as he holds you close.
Alfons, who laughs in your ear, his tone airy and eager to keep your mood just as light.
Roger, who gently kisses and licks his way up your face as fatigue and anxiety manifests in the form of tears.
Jude, who starts to scheme and think about how he's going to ruin all those who make your life harder, rubbing his fingers over your skin delicately.
Ellis, who does anything and everything just to see the glimpse of your smile, ever so reverent.
Victor, who puts on a magic show, his top act is making a genuine smile appear on your face out of nowhere.
Dreams, keep havin’ ‘em ‘bout ya….every night I sleep…‘n it’s always the same.
I’ll see ya layin’ on the ground in a pool of red, ‘n no matter how much I try to shake ya wake, pinch yer cheek, or kiss yer lips, ya just lay there like a motionless doll, with red petals flowin’ from yer body.
That coldness I felt in my core the day ya got brought to the castle is nothin’ compared to void that fills me each night this happens - ‘n it’s my fault.
When I wake up it takes everythin’ in my power to keep from grabbin’ ya to check if yer still breathin’, so I just get up ‘n smoke it off.
How much of a fool can I be for thinkin’ that I can keep ya safe? I ain’t a prince in a fairytale who can wake ya with a kiss or whose tears can heal, I ain’t the one who’ll bring ya blessin’s or good fortune. I’m nothin’, but a rotten malediction.
Ain’t afraid of much, but this grotesque feelin’ grows inside me every mornin’ when I see ya smilin’ at the table, will today be the day my shit nightmare comes true? Will the glow of yer eyes wane, will yer loudness be made quiet? I know what I promised, but what if I fail to keep it?
Guess that sorta fear is the price I gotta pay to have ya in my life, but…please don’t leave me.

AN: This just came to me for some reason. I feel like S.Coups would be so kind in this scenario. He's always reminding CARATs of how precious and worthy of love we are, and he's right! ❤️❤️❤️
Seungcheol had been noticing that you wore long sleeves a lot. When you’d first started dating, it didn’t even occur to him since it was winter. But as it got warmer outside, he wondered. “I run cold,” you would smile, shrugging it off if he tried to broach the subject.
The first official weekend of summer arrived, and he took you on a date to a tennis match. You looked so cute in your summery, sporty tennis skirt. The pattern on the skirt matched the bright berry color of your... long-sleeved top.
“Y/N,” Seungcheol smiled at you when you got out of your car, but quickly frowned at what you were wearing.
“It’s going to be like 100 degrees,” he said when you reached him.
“You don’t feel chilly?” You said, nonchalant. Seungcheol squinted at you. The sun was beating down so hard, anyone would be sweating. He’d worn over 50 SPF sunscreen and a baseball hat that day, it was supposed to be so brutal.
“Y/N,” Seungcheol’s tone shifted, and you felt a slight catch in your chest. He’d stopped walking toward the tennis court bleachers, and you turned to look back at him.
His face was darkened, and you felt like something was off...
“What?” You said, trying to maintain some composure, despite his shift in mood making you uneasy.
“C’mere,” he said, softer than you were expecting. Your face crinkled in confusion, but you made your way toward him. When you got close enough, he softly took you by your forearms.
You nearly jumped out of your skin—you had a feeling he might be wondering about this. It was something that came up in all of your relationships eventually. Your scars. You did your best to cover them up, not exactly because you were ashamed (although, you were admittedly working on that with your therapist), but mostly because you didn’t want to explain. You’d seen too many people, well-intentioned as they might be, get uncomfortable or not know what to say or how to act around you. You felt like it stuck a sign on you that might as well say “damaged goods, do not touch.”
Seungcheol’s gentle grip squeezed you ever so slightly.
“Here, let’s go sit in the car,” he said—you hadn’t realized he was standing so close to you. The grip on your arms wasn’t harsh... but he didn’t handle you overly-delicately either. But still, you couldn’t help but feel panicked. What if he didn’t... get it? What if it turned him off...
“I’m sorry—” you breathed out. Seungcheol stepped back a bit, his grip now supporting your weight. He had a feeling that the reason you wore long sleeves all the time was because of something painful, but he hadn’t anticipated you looking so shaken up.
“Don’t worry,” he said, as reassuringly as he could. “I’m not trying to put you on the spot.” He breathed the words so softly, only you could hear him. You looked at him, still feeling slightly nervous, but something in his eyes made you relax a little. He didn’t seem angry, or eager, or like he was pitying you. The warmth in his eyes was simply... there. Like he was saying, Don’t worry.
Once you were both seated in the car, away from any passersby in the parking lot, you decided it would be best to just rip the band aid off. You pushed the sleeves of your athletic top up, showing the faded but persistent scars along your forearms that you had managed to hide from almost everyone for a long time. He looked at them for a moment, his face remaining placid, only slightly tinged with concern. You start babbling, trying to explain that they were from a long time ago, when you were younger and more lost than you are now... but after a moment, you felt his fingers wrapping around your forearms again as he traced some of the scars with his thumb.
“Thank you for sharing this with me,” he said in a quiet voice, a small, grateful smile on his face that shot straight into your heart. you didn’t know what to say, and were mortified to feel a lump in your throat inching its way up. no one had ever thanked you for this information.
“it’s nothing,” you said, your voice shaking slightly.
“it’s not nothing,” he said simply, as he brushed a hand through your hair, noticing that you were on the verge of tears. “you went through something very difficult, and handled it the best way you knew how at the time. I think it’s really admirable that you’ve come this far, and it means a lot that you shared this part of you with me.”
His kind words had a genuineness to them that sent you over the edge. You didn’t know what to say, and Seungcheol didn’t mind. He brushed a tear away from your cheek with his thumb.
“Let’s get out of here,” he said, lacing his fingers in yours.

My Masterlist
Author’s note: Thank you to everyone who has read, reblogged, and liked this little series so far! This part reveals more about Y/N’s interests and talents, which she’s afraid to share because she is insecure! But not for long with sweet Jeon Wonwoo around. Also she has a fictional younger sister named Daehee (not after anyone in particular, I just like that name). 😉 These two are so innocent and cute, I’m having such fun writing them! Enjoy!!

Your younger sister, Daehee, had come down for breakfast with her bangs still in curlers, wearing her school uniform shirt over her Hello Kitty pajama pants. She was watching you as you concentrated on preparing various dishes at the stove. A thin omelet, grilled shishito peppers, vegetable tempura; it was pretty simple stuff, but you’d developed an urge to create aesthetically pleasing lunches these days.
You couldn’t really explain it, although somewhere in your heart you knew it probably had something to do with Jeon Wonwoo.
For the past week, Jean Wonwoo had been spending lunch on the roof alone with you.
The two of you barely exchanged words, really. Your longest conversation probably lasted only a few minutes. But not for Wonwoo’s lack of trying! You still wondered why he was spending his lunchtime up there at all—even more so why would he keep trying to strike up conversations with you? You guessed he really was just that nice. But every time you were around him you couldn’t help clamming up somehow.
“Are you in any clubs, Y/N?” he’d asked you the other day, between bites of his kimbap.
“Uh, no...” you answered quietly, your nerves frazzled from your total lack of conversational skills.
“None of them appeal to you?”
“Uh, not really that...” you didn’t know how to answer him. You’d ended up just looking at him blankly, like a fool. However, nothing in his facial expression or his tone made you feel like you had to necessarily come up with an answer... But his gaze was intent, and you found it hard to hold onto for more than about three seconds.
“What do you do for fun? To relax?” he followed up breezily, “You’re the class mystery.”
“Um,” the odd self-consciousness you felt at being called ‘the class mystery’ aside, you couldn’t really think of anything to say to him.
Actually, there was one thing that came to mind... but it wasn’t something you’d ever shared with anyone. Your one ‘hobby.’ Though to you it felt more like... squeezing a stress ball. It was what you did when you needed to turn your brain off.
He wants to know what I do to relax?
You couldn’t say what compelled you, but you pulled out your phone and found the photo album you had saved of your miniature paintings.
You worked with acrylic paint on very small canvasses, using very fine, small brushes to create miniature floral designs, portraits, landscapes... Your style was incredibly detailed. You had hundreds of tiny canvasses in little boxes and frames all over your room. You took pictures of most of these tiny paintings when you finished. You had even recorded a couple of time-lapse videos, showing you creating them in fast motion. You’d never felt compelled to create a social media account to display or monetize them, though. You painted because it was what you had done since you were a preteen—the careful, methodical process of dabbing tiny paintbrushes into your carefully mixed colors, getting the tone and shading of a poppy flower’s petal on a tiny scale just right... For you, creating these paintings was like a meditative practice.
By some stroke of inspiration—or insanity—you handed your phone to Wonwoo. His face became visibly more curious as he took your phone carefully in his hands.
“Wowwww,” Wonwoo said, holding the screen closer to his face. He seemed absorbed in your phone—you even caught him zoom in on a few pictures. You could tell he was looking carefully through the album.
“You’re crazy talented!” he said after a while. He sounded genuinely impressed.
“No, haha,” you somehow laughed, coughed, and gasped at the same time, your heart accelerating out of embarrassment from his compliment.
“No, seriously—Y/N, these are really incredible!” he said. “They’re so detailed, and they’re so small! How do you even do that!?” His eyes were glued to your phone screen. A part of you was screaming inside, why on earth you would show these to him!? and urging you to snatch your phone right out of his hand, throw it over the side of the building even. You couldn’t believe that Wonwoo was seeing this, this... habit. And YOU had been the one to show him, of all things!
“I wouldn’t say they’re ‘incredible,’” you said, filling up with more and more anxiety over coming off as bragging or crossing some social boundary that you shouldn’t have crossed.
Wonwoo finally looked up from the screen, looking directly at you instead. You still couldn’t bring yourself to meet his gaze, but you felt his eyes on you. After a long pause, you dared to glance up at him...
But he quickly looked away from you.
Ugh, I’m probably making him feel like he has to be super nice or something...
“Oh, whoa—a time-lapse?” He said, quickly recovering from the somewhat awkward moment when your eyes had met. But his stumbling across the most recent time-lapse video that you’d made prompted you to snap out of your reverie and bolt to grab your phone out of Wonwoo’s hands.
“Ah, don’t watch that!” you lunged for your phone, but Wonwoo reflexively pulled his hand away, surprised by your reaction but still effortlessly dodging your attempt. He smirked down at you, and your heart almost stopped.
“Why not?” he said, and the deep resonance of his voice made you realize how close your bodies were—you were practically sprawled over him after reaching for your phone, his face just inches from yours...
Your whole body seemed to flush a deep shade of red before you catapulted backward away from him. You could have sworn that you saw that Wonwoo smiling to himself, but you were so flustered and anxious about the way you’d completely invaded his personal space that you couldn’t think straight.
“I won’t watch it,” he said light-heartedly, smiling at you as he tossed your phone back to you. “But you are super talented, Y/N. Painting is such a unique skill, too.”
And just like that, he went back to eating his kimbap like nothing had happened. His relaxed, friendly tone mercifully neutralized the atmosphere, but you just stood there clutching your phone to your chest.
“It’s not that I’m embarrassed,” you started, even though you couldn’t look Wonwoo in the eye, “It’s just—I’ve never shared these paintings with anyone except my family...” Your heart kind of ached for some reason as you said this to Wonwoo, who just continued to look at you in silence. What on earth had compelled you to share that with him?
Agh, say something! You willed for this pause in conversation pass, but it didn’t seem to be budging.
“Thank you for showing me,” Wonwoo said at last. His low, gentle voice seemed to shoot directly into your bloodstream, flushing you an even deeper shade of red than you thought was humanly possible. You looked at him briefly, and something about the way he was looking back at you...
The moment had played over and over again like a movie in your head for the past few days. The directness of his gaze. The rich, sincere quality of his voice. The way he’d smiled to himself... you couldn’t stop thinking of that particular lunch hour.
Standing at the kitchen counter, Daehee watched you dip veggies in tempura batter and toss them in the pot of hot oil on the stove. You let your mind run through the questions it had been asking all week: why was he spending time with you like this? Did he lose a bet? Is there some kind of hidden camera prank you should be wary of? More than that, why was he being so nice?
“Hellooo, earth to Y/N! I said you’re really going to town on your lunches these days,” Daehee tried again to get a rise out of you.
“Oh,” you said, taking the last piece of tempura squash out of the oil. “I just like experimenting.” You weren’t lying, exactly—you did like exploring all kinds of different food and dishes. Cooking was fun to you, different from the calm of painting.
You would be lying if you said that an added bonus wasn’t Wonwoo noticing and complimenting your work.
You liked it when he praised you. It felt like he meant it.
No one could be that good at faking sincerity, could they?
You couldn’t help but hear that small voice in the back of your head, doubting Wonwoo’s intentions.
But he hadn’t done anything other than come up to the roof during lunch this week, mostly just eating in silence with you—the two of you simply looking out at the sky...
But after you had shown him your paintings...
Maybe it was since then that you had started to put more effort into your lunches.
