My first name is Sara, I am eighteen years old, and I am meant to attend IUP this Fall to start studying for my Bachelor's Degree in Science of Nursing (BSN). After receiving this degree, I plan to continue on with my education to specialize in pediatric nursing. I firmly believe that the youth of today is the future of tomorrow, and that children deserve nothing short of the best care this world has to offer. However, I won't be able to do any of this without help.
I have applied for over one hundred scholarships, Federal Aid, and even student loans. With all of that work and research, I've won four scholarships and received two small Federal loans. However, none of this has come close to covering all of my college funding. I am $16,000 short of attending my first year of college. I have no credit-worthy adults to co-sign for any private loans, and students cannot get private loans on their own without good credit and at least $24,000 annual income. Being fresh out of high school, I meet neither of those qualifications.
Asking for help is not always easy, but it is what is necessary for me at this point.
I graduated with a 4.6 GPA weighted (3.95 unweighted), over 200 voluntary hours, and I was involved in several extracurricular activities (including being Band Captain for my high school's Marching Band). Going to college has always been not just a dream of mine, but a goal and a necessity. I would be eternally grateful if you could help me get there.
Any and every penny put towards my college education is appreciated. My goal right now is to fundraise $8,000, which will finish covering my first semester.
Donations will cover tuition, University fees, housing, and books. If anyone has any questions about me, my college, my major, or the costs donations will go towards, feel free to message me.
