Mosiah 16:14 “.. Therefore, if ye teach the law of Moses, also teach that it is a shadow of those things which are to come—..”

While reading today for some reason this verse today it really hit me. It’s interesting that he says the Law Of Moses was a sign of things that were to come. So with that in mind wouldn’t commandments today which are pretty much the same from before..wouldn’t they be a sign of things to come? And even more so with general conference with the leaders setting new boundaries, standards and programs? For example when Pres Hinckley came out with the proclamation on the Family. So it really inspired me to really read over this recent General Conference talks as my guide for these next 6 or 7 months. I want to invite you all to do the same and I know you can find your answer and your direction in life(: Ofa lahi atu💕

Mosiah 14 & 15

Real quick, I’ve been feeling so far from the Lord and it got down on me because I feel like I try. I felt so sorry about it and didn’t want it to be that way. And then these chapters talked about our Savior and the reason for his suffering. What caught my attention is that He went through that SO that He could help us and that we have a chance to redeem ourselves. Then I started to feel a lot more positive and hopeful in general. I know his Atonement is real and we can all find peace in Christ.

It’s been kinda rocky these past few days but I always feel a whole better when I depend on my Savior. He comes through every time and the second I come unto Him I feel a whole better and everything feels lighter

When I had about a year in the mission, we were having a huge conference with Elder Bragg and three other zones at the time. I had felt so much anxiety, nervous and scared. I didn’t want to feel that way and it shouldn’t feel that way for a spiritual conference. So the morning of conference we started to walk on our way to conference and I felt anxious again. I remember that prayer is a simple easy step to get back on the right track. So I prayed in my heart begging for the Spirit to be with me and that everything could be okay. Literally the second I finish praying a dove 🕊 flew to our side. It reminded me of Christ’s baptism when the Spirit manifested itself in the form of a dove. So that was Father in Heaving answering my prayers and blessing me with the Spirit.

Mosiah Chapter 7

I read this chapter but my mind and feelings went to a whole different place. I had only asked in a prayer that the Spirit would be with me and that He was welcome to just occupy my mind, thoughts and feelings. And the whole time I had positive and calming thoughts about the future and the plan of salvation which isn’t exactly is what this chapter is talking about but I feel very spiritually uplifted.

I have been feeling kind of bad in regards to things of spiritual. I have been so blessed and I feel I don’t have enough and can’t find a way to give thanks or give back enough. It’s also been kinda rocky but I’m trying to hold on.

The following scriptures really resonated with me and what I’ve been feeling lately..

Mosiah 5:2, “..we know of their surety and truth, because of the Spirit..which has wrought a might change..in our hearts, that we have no more disporion to do evil, but to do good continually..”

Mosiah 5:12, “..I would that ye should remember to retain the name (Christ) written always in your hearts..”

Mosiah 5:15, “..Therefore, I would that ye should be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works..”

I know these things are true and I wish I could do enough to thank Him fully for everything He has given me.

Mosiah 4

In this chapter King Benjamin has been giving a speech. In this chapter specifically he had spoken of service, sharing and giving. I love that just by reading this true book that I am reminded to give to others and to think of others.

I also initially felt hope and positivity for the future. I felt that I will end up with the guy I am suppose to that will help me and I will help him as long as I keep the commandment and strive to stay on track.

I know that this impression is true. It comes from the Spirit and is of God because it is good, positive and peaceful. I know the Book of Mormon to be true and the scriptures to be our living guidance. I know my God and Redeemer lives and we can be with them again if we keep the commandments.

This week has been challenging. A lot of stressful situations has come up such as school, bills and work. Everything was fine and then this “storm” kind of appeared. I was feeling tense, nervous, scared and anxious. But good thing I got to read the Book of Mormon to remind me of what I tend to forget.

The Book of Mormon

Enos 1:15, “...Whatsoever thing ye shall ask in faith, believing that ye shall receive in the name of Christ, ye shall receive it..”

Reading this verse reminded me of what I forget sometimes. If I didn’t read the scriptures I wouldn’t have remembered this on my own. I realized my Heavenly Father can help and I just need to ask. I was so worried and distressed that I didn’t know or remember who to turn to and probably would’ve given up.

So I got on my knees and prayed for His divine help. The power of prayer is real and strong. Sometimes all it takes is a simple prayer to get us on the right track. I was blessed that day with the help of my step-dad with my bills(he didn’t pay, he just helped me manage) and I was able to get in touch with certain people for assistance in school.

I testify of the power of the Book of Mormon as a testimony of Christ. It has and continues to make an impact on my life which gives me hope to know that everything will be ok as long as I endure living the gospel. I know Heavenly Father answers our prayers and I invite all to come unto Christ and learn of Him through this true Book. I know you’ll find the same positive effects or changes in your life.

The Book of Mormon

I feel very good this morning and don’t feel like I really had any questions but I did ask two questions.

What can I do to remember the Lord daily?

What can I improve in thy sight?

*2 Nephi 24 & 25

My first impression was to study about Jesus Christ. I felt that it made so much sense and when you receive such divine thoughts you recognize their not your own cause you wouldn’t have thought of something like that and it’s like this heavenly light bulb goes off 💡

Then I read 2 Nephi 25:26

“.. And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins..” Another answer to prayer and question.

A lot of what I read today and felt led more towards the first question and I hope to know my Savior more❤️

Hearing about this Momo character is pretty scary to see how technology/media is getting dangerous. I also remembered this video talking about the home and the safety of families. I hope that as we become aware of Momo that we can also become aware of the tools we have also to keep this negative influence away. Whether you’re a member/believer or not I know you want the best for your children and I can promise the same from the ending of this video. The Spirit can help warn us of dangers and utilizing the Savior’s atonement will also have great effects in keeping the home a sanctuary from the dangers❤️

I can not express how grateful to the Lord for everything I have. I have all the most important things that I need and more! The blessing of tithings are real. I’ve been keep up with my tithing since I’ve gotten home and got a job, so for about 4 months now. And I truly feel the outpouring of these blessings that I don’t have room. It’s starting to be a lot and I was already content with what I had at the beginning because I felt the reassurance by the Spirit that what I have is enough and that I can be truly happy with what I have which I am. I promise as the blessings have truly came true in my life, I promise that if we obey exactly to God’s commandments we receive great blessings that can last forever.

I know the Book of Mormon and the scriptures are these living water that makes my spirit whole. It has brought such great joy and happiness in my life and for that I left to serve my Lord and help others receive that same blessing. This little kid in the photo was so open minded and learned quickly and overtime in learning the gospel he grow more fond of it and decided to be baptized. That baptism not only effected him and his family but to me also. I know they’ll be ok❤️

I have just been so blessed lately. With a home, a family, friends and especially the gospel. I’m humbled to have the basics and most important of life to live a quality life. And then to be accepted into BYU, to be financially stable, with good credit(not bragging, I promise) and to have my own car soon. It’s more than I need and I feel undeserving of it but nonetheless accept and am grateful to my God who makes it all possible❤️

For some reason I have been feeling really unmotivated to things especially to read my scriptures. I chose to do it still because I know I need to do it and it would be to atletas to try. And I can say the Lord always pulls through in all the times that I need Him.

* 2 Nephi 10:23 “..Therefore, cheer up your hearts, and remember that they are ye are free to act for yourselves..”

I realized this could have came off in a scolding way but the way I felt directed by the Spirit is to cheer up my heart at this time. It may be coincidental but I don’t believe it’s just a coincidence. And I feel like I’m being cheered on to keep going on and I also thought 2 similar impressions by the Spirit:

- Just focus on praying. Praying first in the morning, praying before bed and though out the day.

- I need to especially pray and ask the Lord for His strength and help to get up and follow through with my responsibilities and to obey His commandments.

I am forever for the scriptures and especially the Book of Mormon. I always feel truly whole and blessed to receive answers and promptings divinely inspired by His Spirit. I am especially grateful for my Savior also for He truly heals even today in ways unseen unless by faith.

Something that has been odd with me is how I feel nothing spiritually at times. I feel I’ve lost my desire and will to read and pray daily. I’m not sure why and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I still try to do it daily but I don’t want to just go through the motions or just because I have to. So I expressed that in my prayers to my Heavenly Father and what I’ve read happens to apply exactly and be very helpful

The Book of Mormon (2 Nephi 9)

This chapter talks a lot about Heavenly Father’s eternal plan, our purpose here on earth and the role the sacrifice of Jesus Christ plays in this plan. Since the fall of Adam and Eve mankind was separated from the presence of God. Christ comes to earth and offers himself on the Christ so that we can return to Him but we do have to do our part which is repenting of our disobedience to the commandments and rely on the power and sacrifice of Christ.

2 Nephi 9:39

This verse caught my attention specifically the part, “...Remember, to be carnally-minded is death, and to be spiritually-minded is life eternal..”

I guess in more dramatic terms I’ve been feeling dead spiritually or empty inside. So I decided to read the footnotes for further clarification and read about, “Spiritual Death” which was..

- To be separated from God and His influence

- To “die” in spiritual things

Later on it goes to read what I can do to fix it..

- Repentance through the Atonement of Jesus Christ

- Obedience to the principles and ordinances of the gospel

It felt very apparent that this was relatable to me and I could do these things to get back on track spiritually. I’ve been trying and some days I got lazy and reverted to my phone all day which distracts me so I will improve! At times it does feel I choose that over the spiritual things which is probably why I feel “spiritually dead” because it’s keeping me from the influence of the Spirit.

I just want to say that I know it will be ok as long as I follow these directions I have received in the scriptures and ESPECIALLY by the help of my Savior. I know it can do the same for you because it has for me every single time. I know when we are obedient to Gods commandments we have the promise of prospering and if we make a few mistakes we can always go to our Savior by repentance and rely on Him to make us strong and whole again. We do need to our part and it can start with a prayer❤️

You know what’s funny? I ended up reading the same chapter yesterday 2 Nephi 6. I got confused to where I was at in reading so I turned back a few pages and started reading. I really liked verse 7, “...for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me..”

I love that because it’s becoming evident that the second coming is coming close and we don’t have to be afraid. I know as long we keep the commandments and utilize the Saviors atonement. His sacrifice provides that second chance no matter how far we’ve gone and enables us to be with our Father in Heaven.

“...And the Lord was with [me]; and [I] did prosper..” 2 Nephi 5:11

A lot of times when we read the scriptures we’ll need to pay attention to how we feel in order to find an answer. I’ve been blessed to be accepted into a school of my choice BYU and I feel very blessed because of the Lord. This specific verse and words relate to how I feel.

As I prepare I try to turn to Him for help and in reading a particular verse my mind was not reading the actual verse. It went off on some other tangent about preparing and so I wrote what I thought.. “Everything will work out but do try to earn and save money”

I just so happened to be reading 2 Nephi 5:12 , “... I, Nephi, had also brought..the plates of brass (scripture)..and also the ball, or compass (Liahona)..” Having the help of God as well as reading the scriptures and my patriarchal blessing act as my guideline through life even in this moment and I know it’s true.
