The wand in question is rather well-known in certain circles.
mm😉
You’d be surprised to know whom I assigned to the role of Belvina’s daughter 🙃 (not that I plan something big for her but…)
I’m not even sure whether it counts as canon divergence, because it doesn’t strictly contradict anything stated in HP… though I have a feeling it was probably implied otherwise. But honestly — whatever serves the plot best

You were not cousins in those woods. We both know it.

"So it is about trust," Orion said. The words were very quiet. And they stopped her cold.
A small spoiler / just the process of writing
Okay, this is technically a spoiler — but I cannot not share it.
This chapter was written over a month ago, maybe two. Yesterday I went back to edit it, and everything was very clear. Very. And I thought: for heaven’s sake 😤🤦🏻♀️— Orion is utterly hopeless.
I’m writing a scene where he’s alone with Burgie — at night, in the woods!!!! — with a girl who has just put her hand on his leg in a room full of witnesses… and he still decides that the appropriate place to begin is by clarifying whether her opposition to their marriage stemmed from one principle or another.
Old habits die hard, I thought.
As a kind of mental exercise, I tried to imagine a version of events in which Orion behaves "appropriately". I was completely honest with myself when I concluded: no. This is the only way it could possibly unfold. It’s simply who he is.
And then today - Bam! - I let them remain there a few moments longer — just a breath more of silence, of presence — and something almost magical happened. It felt as though the characters themselves decided how it should go. It’s a tiny moment, barely a scene at all, but it’s ❤️🖤❤️ and I adore it for that.
Are Cyg and Dru right about Walburga in general?
I wouldn’t frame it like this - Druella does have a valid point regarding the nature of the relationship between Orion and Walburga: it is indeed strange how Walburga simultaneously rejects him while maintaining a closeness. However, Druella lacks the specifics of their feelings for one another (lol she thinks that Orion has not always been so fixated on Burgie) Additionally, keep in mind that neither Walburga nor Orion communicates extensively with Druella, so in that sense, she remains somewhat of an outsider to their relationship - not like Vaia in Chapter 12, who is a complete outsider, but still. Druella does have some insight, but not the entire picture.
As for Cygnus, he is a spoiled brat eager to undermine his siblings😈. Naturally, he prefers to view Walburga as a frigid, dull ice queen, incapable of producing anything of value - least of all an heir. Plus, Walburga gets nervous when Cygnus uses heirs and sex as leverage - it’s partly a power play. So, I would advise to read between the lines; every character in this story can be both right and wrong simultaneously.
