The only truly trying thing about getting a top surgery as a genderfluid person who isnt on HRT and who people still percieve as a woman is that my chest is still this private, sexualized thing to everyone. I dont have breasts anymore. They're completely gone. But people are scandalized when I talk about swimming in just shorts this summer, because no matter how much they genuinely believe with the best intentions that they understand and support my indentity, unless I'm willing to go on testosterone and "transform" into a "man," my chest is and will always be a "girl chest" with "girl nipples" to them. It's exhausting.

if you are trying to be supportive of genderfluid people in your life, ask yourself how you view their bodies and their bodies' bearing on their gender. If you realize you still see them "mainly" or "originally" as one gender because of their bodies, challenge that.

Maybe seeing me topless would make people who got used to considering me a woman uncomfortable, but that is their discomfort to work through, not my problem to accommodate.
