Pattern: Luana Apron Dress

“Skill level: This is my second garment from scratch. Intrepid beginner?
Thoughts: I could not have done this well without the help of previous redditors posting about their experiences with the odd pockets...
Mods I made:
- Deepened the pockets by an inch, but could have done two inches
- Flipped hem to right side and topstitched
- Eased in more of the top edge of the bib so that it'd lie flat-
- Darts instead of pleats as I'm very busty (30G) and don't want to add more volume
- No bottom button as I had to take in the back waist a lot and there wasn't a point to it I could see.
Mods I suggest making/will make in the future
- Removing the end of the strap that tucks inside and just sewing it onto the bib directly. There's a lot of waist bulk in this pattern. - Probably will embroider the hem edge. - Honestly, doing totally detached pockets to further reduce waist bulk.”

“I made this apron dress out of some old upholstery fabric (I think it's wool but I'm not sure). I lined it with back polyester satin from a curtain. I had to make do with what I had since I couldn't leave the house!
Patterns from fabrics-store usually fit great, but I'll add elastic inside the back waistband as it sags a bit when I'm wearing it.
Edit: I also changed the pleats for darts, because I felt like the pleats gave the bodice too much volume and I like the look of darts better!”
