Name: Cecaelia + Scylla

Alternate Names: Octopus Folk, Cilophyte, Octomaid, Skylla

Mythology: Cecaelia are from Native American Mythology (not sure though) and the Scylla is from Ancient Greek Mythology

Size: Cecaelia are Medium to sometimes large, the Scylla is Huge.

Environment: Oceans, cliffs, rarely in fresh water

In Mythika: Cecaelia are related to Merfolk, but instead of the lowerbody of a fish, they have the bodies of octopi. They use their tentacles in battle and also hold a weapon with their two arms, making them fierce opponents. Like the octopus the Cecaelia can shift its colors to match its surroundings, some elder Cecaelia can even shift their appearance towards the race that they most often encounter, so if they live with Intulo (Gecko-Folk) their humanoid features turn into Intulo features, but most keep their human-like appearance, though their skin resembles octopus hide, mostly purple with black. Cecaelia often are seen as sea hags, and while some cecaelia villages are known to exist, most of them are very solitary creatures with their own scenes. They are very interested in the art of magic, and many Sea Witch Cecaelia are encountered. They know how to use the many creatures of the ocean to their advantage, and they can also summon sea beasts in the heat of battle, mostly these are simple creatures like the Blue Karkinos, Stella and Con Rits.

Scylla are much bigger and ancient cecaelia which most important difference is its sheer size, power and the tentacles which end in the snapping maws of moray eels. Scylla often stalk narrow cliff-sides, hiding in caves and using their many tentacle-maws to snap juicy morsels from the sea or from ships. They are seen as Goddesses and many people believe there is only one of them, this is not true, while they are rare they are not a single entity. Scylla can also summon beasts from the sea, but she summons much stronger monsters, most notoriously are the teamworks between Scylla and Charybdis. The big sea-aberrations herd ships into the maws of the Scylla with their whirlpool abilities, and are allowed to feast on the leftovers.
