“Y/n… is that you?”
XIAO feels his knees weakening and his breath staggering. It couldn’t be… you’re-
He flinches almost in an instant as you finally raise your head, yet instead of meeting your ever-joyous eyes and bright smile that can rival the sun… there you were, glaring at him as if you were throwing daggers his way, a scowl curled on your face–Xiao was far too frozen in shock to realize the dark aura emitting around your body.
“You! It’s you!” even your voice didn’t sound like you.
But he didn’t notice. “Y/n…?”
“Xiao!” you screeched, and he shivers, “I called for you! Where were you?! Where were you, Xiao?!!”

Liyue. A place long past it’s era of poverty, the city has grown in Yanfei’s heart and also in size. It’s flourishing, to say the least. Folk music playing everywhere, people bustling about the streets, bright lights adorning the stalls, sparks of joy flashing in people’s eyes. But it could never feel right. For yanfei, at least.
Waves of time have eroded the rocks of Yanfei’s brain, but it never hit the coven that belonged to you. The hustle seemed hollow, the music obnoxiously cheery, Archons, the entire Liyue felt empty without you at her side. You, dragging her through the crowd, holding on it with a smile too wide to be just friends. You, who would listen to her talk, your smooth understanding of the situation easing her nerves. You, who promised----
“Yanfei. I don’t have much time left, but I want to spend it with you. I promise, even after I leave, my spirit will follow you everywhere you go, alongside you. With our red threads conjoined, we will be together forever.”
“Yanfei! You’re needed for the trial! You’re up in 10 minutes!”
“Yanfei! There’s some paperwork here, Lan Zai has been absent as of lately, you’ll need to cover for him for now.”
A sigh escapes the adeptus’s mouth as she rubs her temples in a futile attempt to ease her throbbing headache. Her name, her person felt so wrong, so undesirably incorrect without the lilt in the name that had long since been forgotten. The entire Liyue seemed to be in an endless time-lapse, her brain working in overdrive as she frantically scribbles in her signature for the documents, praying to all archons that she could stop thinking about you, trying desperately to keep up a façade alongside her colleagues.“Let it go and move on, right? That’s what granny said…” Yanfei bitterly muttered under her breath.
Yanfei, has learnt.
Her heart has hardened. It will no longer beat for those who she sees. All she wants back is you
.
It has been 500 years. Yanfei is exhausted. All she wants to do is fall back into your arms once more, and alight the flame she had lost so long ago
You came back, Yanfei wishes she could say one day.
You came back.
Until you did. You returned. She called, and you, dazzling, beautiful and gorgeous, finally came back . Your cheeks rosy, in better health than you’d ever been before, and Yanfei is delighted. You two can now look at the fireworks in full glory now, patches and sparks of gold and red and green, joy blossoming in both of you came back. Your smile seems to be laced with gold, eyes wide and attentive, so blissfully aware of the world around it, and so is Yanfei. You both are dancing a mesmerizing tango, intertwined with the stars, and the red strings once binding her are flying around, with the heat of a bright-red flame, finite and magical.
For once in a very long time, Yanfei thinks, I am happy.

I’m actually going to reblog a thing just because this is really important.
As someone who has epilepsy and used to have several grand mal seizures a day, I’d also like to add that “offer help” can range anywhere from keeping the person calm to explaining to them where they are and what they were doing to even just telling them they should sit and rest for a while longer (lack or coordination is common, and it can be hard to walk straight or see clearly).
It’s okay for them to take up to a half hour to fully regain their bearings and sort out what they were doing prior to the seizure. Just answer any questions calmly and be there for support.
If they come around and you start to panic or shake them or ask them what the heck is wrong with them they are going to freak out and panic too.
I cannot stress it enough that this is bad.
If someone has a seizure and they come out of it, please. please stay calm.
They are likely disoriented and confused, even if it’s only for a minute or two, and you don’t want them panicking on top of that because they can have another seizure as a result.
IMPORTANT because last year a kid in my class had a seizure, none of us even knew he was at risk for them either so just cause you don’t think you know anyone doesn’t mean you don’t
I have to stress how important it is to time a seizure. If it lasts more than a few minutes, call an ambulance.
DO NOT CALL THE POLICE. I’m dead fucking serious. I had a grand mal in public once and the POLICE were called and imagine coming out of the seizure, feeling like you got smacked in the head with a sack full of bricks, confused, dazed, in desperate need of some sugar to boost low blood pressure and some DIPSHIT has called the police and I was being threatened with being ‘drunk and disorderly’. It took a phone call to my doctors office to get them to back off. The police cannot properly deal with sick people.
Offer help can be:
assuring person where they are/what time it is
getting them something to drink if they can; seizure burns so much energy and does cause a blood pressure drop
getting them safely to transport or a carer
getting them some dignity like a blanket/towel [loosing control of your bladder and bowels is fucking horrifying]
ensuring they have a way to get home. Someone who has just had a seizure should NEVER DRIVE straight after
calling emergency services if you notice any of these symptoms because they may have stroked out.
Why you shouldn’t put anything in someone’s mouth: they will choke. Yes, they may bite their tongue but I can assure you it’s less traumatic than cracking your jaw on someone’s greasy wallet or choking on a spoon.
DO NOT HOLD ANYONE DOWN. Example: someone pinned my right shoulder mid-seizure a few years back and how I have a permanently displaced and clicking shoulder. Let the person flail around, those muscles are out of control and restraining them does cause more damage to the patient and you.
if i have a seizure in front of you and you are able, please film it and share the video with me. like, dont post it online to mock the person having a seizure. but if they’ve never had a seizure before, or if they’re going through diagnosis, having video evidence can be super important in getting the right diagnosis/treatment.
