wendy during red flavor era for anon ♡
I’m everything they never wanted me to become I think I’m ok with that now.
Midnight Excerpts #28 // L.H.Z (via lhzthepoet)
sgnxseungah:
Throwing an arm over Wendy’s shoulder, Seungah shows a genuine smile. She’s happy that the other is being very supportive of this newfound project of hers. “And I’m sure you’ll be amazing support in honing this little devil in the making too.” Giving the other a playful hip bump. “Do make time to meet her and maybe give her a lesson or two. Try to tell her we don’t plan on overdosing her with coffee.”
"anyone can bite, you just have to bring it out of them." wendy adds him helpfully. "like training a pet." maybe it's a bit twisted of her to think of people like pets, but wendy doesn't think much of it, moving on quickly. "it's cute that they try. they can have their two seconds of fame before they get knocked right back down and humbled. maybe they deserve that."
wendy hums, but shrugs. she trusts seungah's judgement, or rather just goes along with it. that's what you do when you're friends with seungah, but wendy doesn't mind it really. "oh, she'll be fine i'm sure. does she want to be with us? then she'll just have to learn and deal." she speaks with nonchalance, as if her statements were facts and words read out of a handbook. "she'll be happier once you show her how things are done, i'm sure. how could she not?"
"i'm excited to meet her," wendy says with a chirp, though inside...she's conflicted. it's another connection, another one added to their group-- which means less attention taken off of her. she doesn't quite like that, but hopefully lara is an interesting enough girl to keep her entertained. it'd be a drag if she really was boring.
swaying slightly at seungah's half embrace, she smiles back at the other girl. she wraps an arm around the girl's waist, her other hand reaching up to lightly grab onto her hand. "i'll do my best." she promises, grinning cheekily. "i'll send the message on. and we'll make a wonderful little lady out of her, i can promise you that."
✠* ~the eternal
sgnwooyoung:
the same instance had come to pass today. with wooyoung perched upon a chair, just backstage. the curtains otherwise hiding him from prying eyes, though she always seemed to know where to look for him. as though she could feel his eyes occasionally burning holes into her. though he didn’t mind. didn’t mind the notion of her feeding from his fixation. she simply looked too natural to not take in, to not imitate life into art. though he came to be startled when she’d come up behind him to view his latest work, his hand pressed against his chest. “you’ve got to stop sneaking up behind me. i’ll have a heart attack soon, and you’ll be the one to blame. would you be able to live with that?”
rehearsing any part of her craft always puts wendy in a good mood. she's all smiles, greeting other people backstage and on her way towards where she last saw a glimpse of her favorite artist. she's used to being watched, used to having people's eyes on her-- but she hasn't met anyone that's given her such a beauty in an art form (outside of herself) that tops wooyoung.
seeing his form, she slows down, a playful twinge to her smile as she approaches carefully. she tiptoes, ducking behind curtains to hide until she's near him, and she leans over his back adn sets her hands gently on the back of the chair to view it with a "whoa, so pretty!"
wendy laughs, loud and unabashed as she leans away, cheeky. stepping to the side as she braces one hand on the chair, grinning down at the male. "sorry, oppa. i couldn't help it." she chirps, eyes flickering him, to his sketchbook, then back to him. "what? live with the idea i scared a man to death? that'd be pretty good for my rep." she bumps him gently with her hip, nodding to his sketch. "do i really look that good?" she asks genuinely; there's something about seeing her come to life through wooyoung's artistic hands that always leaves her in awe of the work itself. "the hair looks so pretty, wah...so talented, wooyoung-oppa!" wendy's smile is wide, beaming.

sgngeon:
“go ahead and say what’s on your mind,” he says, serving up her drink, ignoring the groan he hears from his companion at the other end of the bar. “i charge hourly, by the way.”
there are some people that like to say that she's dumb. that she's all talk, all mouth with a pretty face-- but wendy does have a brain. she's not as empty-headed and materalistic as people think. she has a lot of thoughts, a lot going on in that pretty head of hers. she thinks about a lot of things, how to better herself and to keep herself set soundly at the top. she thinks about her friends, her group-- their clique, or what have you. she thinks about everyone around her-- and there's just...there's a lot.
the frown feels heavy on her face, tapping her fingers on the countertop in a set rhythm. she feels as though if she stares hard enough, maybe the countertop would disintegrate. she snaps out of it when the voice hits her ears, attention momentarily pulled away by the drink. she blinks, scoffing softly as she accepts the drink. she takes a sip idly, eyeing the bartender from behind the glass.
"good thing i can talk fast then," she muses dryly, a small smile tugging at the corner of her mouth. sighing, she sets her elbow on the counter, cupping her chin in her hand as she spins the straw in the drink slowly. "i have a lot on my mind. you sure you can handle it?" wendy shoots back, but she's already moving to continue to speak. "i'm tired of being here. but my friends are still out and about. if i leave, then i look like i can't handle it. if i stay, i'm like, miserable. isn't that sad?" wendy sighs, loud and sounding almost exaggerated. she takes another sip from her drink, before her eyes shoot back up to the bartender. "it's sad right? ugh. aren't you miserable? working in this? too much!"

on the day of feburary the fourteenth, someone approaches your door with a gift. a basket is left hanging upon the door handle with a bouquet of fresh roses inside, and a fuchsia note with hearts is placed upon the door, lightly stuck upon a place where you would see it within eyesight. handwritten in black ink, the note states:
to › son wendy
best actress of the year, son wendy!! here’s your bouquet of roses after the performance of a lifetime!! i’ll bring you even more after our next production~ ღゝ◡╹)ノ♡
from › kim yoohyeon
and all that is left is a light knock upon the doorstep to signal you before the person dashes off into the unknown.
she's relaxing on her bed when another series of knocks hit her door. she lets out a groan, dropping her phone on the bed as she stares forward. she doesn't really want to get up, but she does-- pushing off her comfortable bed as she manuevers her way out toward the door. she opens her door and doesn't even bother to look, grabbing the basket from the handle and shutting the door behind her when she steps back in. ther'es more roses, that still bring a small smile to her face. setting them on the table next to the first batch of roses, she tugs out the note to read.
a slow smile spreads across her face, and she chuckles. she glances at the roses with a contented smile, nodding her head. "leave it to kim yoohyeon to say what i need to hear." she murmurs. she makes a mental note to take yoohyeon out somewhere nice in thanks, moving to set up the roses with the ones she received earlier.

thanks for looking after me ~ i hope our friendship continues to bloom as pretty as these roses!

she's modeling her outfit in the mirror, smoothing out any wrinkles with her hands when the knock occurs. she twists her head to stare at the door in surprise, before she begins to approach. she sighs to herself, adjusting her blazer as she unlocks her door and opens it-- only to see one one but a basket of roses. her brows furrow, and she looks down the hallway. there's noise-- like someone leaving, maybe coming, she doesn't know. pursing her lips, she reaches to pick up the basket, noticing the fuchsia note she had seen for lovestagrams. her lips twitch as she picks up the note to read, chuckling.
"thank you, jung lara." wendy comments to herself in amusement, smile curving wider as she moves to set the roses in something. she makes note to grab something for lara the next time she goes shopping in thanks.

caught in a lie,
@sgnhoetaek
if there is one thing that anyone knows about wendy, it's that she always has to be in the know. she likes knowing everything about everyone-- never liking to be out of the loop or misinformed. she doesn't like to be blind sided by information she isn't aware of, so she will always actively seek it out. especially if it's something interesting, especially if it means that she has the upperhand on the situation.
she's thoughtful as she gazes over at two of the students-- both of which she knows well enough. hoetaek and ahri, revealed as dating not too long ago. which doesn't bother wendy. people date each other, especially within her friend group-- so she sees it quite often. and if wendy were anyone else, maybe she would have fell for it. believed it straight to the core.
but wendy is an actress. and she can see that there's something off, that there's some sort of facade being given. she's always felt off about it, especially since hearing about it. it's probably because she doesn't really care for hoetaek, and she thinks ahri deserves a bit better; why would she settle for someone like him? fighting back the urge to frown, her head tilts to the side, humming to herself. there's a thought in her head, one she wonders that could be true. it's a possibility, it would make sense-- but it's a long shot. so she waits, until ahri leaves and it's just hoetaek. her arms cross loosely over her chest, and she carefully makes her way over, a smile in place as she approaches.
"hoetaek-ssi," she greets, hands clasped behind her back. she keeps her expression even, her smile never leaving her face as she rocks on her heels. "fancy meeting you here." it's not, but she's quick to continue, not giving the other the chance to speak. "so..." wendy drags out the o, blinking up at the male with a coy smile. "...what's up with you and ahri?"

Hello sunshine, this is from your favorite oppa! Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your smiles, whenever we are talking and joking! Please keep bringing sunshine to Seongnam! :)

her eyes are on her phone, fingers tapping away at a message as her expression stays blank in concentration. she doesn’t look up or around her as she approaches her door. she’s well used to the layout of her building so she doesn’t feel the need to. once she reaches the door and stops, she looks up at it while reaching for her bag to grab her key, though freezing at the sight of the basket.
her eyebrows raise, tilting her head as a smile crosses her face. she grabs her key in the bag and gently takes the basket off, holding it on her wrist as she unlocks her door and lets herself in. kicking the door closed gently, she tosses her purse near the entryway. she leans against the door and pockets her phone, picking up the note and peering at it. the words make her smile twitch, widen a little bigger as a laugh leaves her. she shakes her head, pushing of the wall and taking slow steps, running her fingers over the fur of the teddy bear. “sunshine, huh?” wendy muses. “no wonder you’re my favorite oppa. you know how much i love flattery.” she comments quietly to herself, smiling before setting down the bear softly on the table.
not interested,
@sgndaejoon
it's nice being from a well off family. there's a lot of luxury, a lot of material things she enjoys-- the attention, wants and needs being catered to-- it's a life as close to kings and queens that she can get. the only thing that sucks about it is that her parents think connections are everything. the more connections you have, the better; it'll keep you safe, it'll keep you stable, yada yada.
which leaves her here, heading to the destination of a blasted blind date. the thought makes her grimace, but it's never a question of no with her parents when they're actually around to lecture her. she doesn't like it-- so maybe that's why she's not taking it very seriously. to start, she walks in ten minutes late, a casual smile on her face as she follows her waitress to their chosen table. the male sitting there makes her eyebrow raise, recognition briefly settling from seeing him around campus. she gives her thanks as she sits down across from him, carefully placing her purse next to her. making herself comfortable for a few seconds, she glances up with the same practiced smile.
"sorry, i was caught up with something." she starts immediately. she gently moves her hair over one shoulder before folding her hands in her lap. "daejoon-ssi, right? my name is wendy, thank you for meeting with me." it's like a script leaving her mouth, quick and precise to the point.
✦ ; tricks behind the mask
sgnchanyeol:
wanting her drink to be as fresh as possible, he wonders if he should ask them to hold off for now when he thinks he spots her just outside the door, waving once their gazes meet. for a brief moment, he realizes this could look like a date, especially when he stands to bow for her once she approaches and holds the chair out for her, but it’s common enough for social chairs to meet up, right? “ i ordered your regular, i hope that’s okay. ”
being on break is great, for the most part. after the first few days and a few missed calls that her parents never answer, wendy can feel herself growing antsy. even on the day of her birthday, she almost wishes she had been back on campus. gifts are delivered and given, well wishes that sound like they came straight from a hallmark card. and then she's alone, left with her thoughts and the need to get out.
so knowing she's meeting up with chanyeol today leaves her in a good mood. she's happy to step out to meet at the cafe to discuss social chair business between the two clubs. she's ready to get planning, for something to look forward to with the upcoming semester. happy to be out and talking to people she can actually have a conversation with-- she's all smiles when she pauses outside the cafe. she peers in to see if she can see him-- though the waving is obvious even through the door. she snorts, shaking her head with a smile as she reaches to open and step inside, ducking her head with a hello as she makes her way towards him.
adjusting the purse on her shoulder, phone clutched in her hand, she smiles easily as she lets out a cute thank you~ as she takes the seat that's held out for her. reaching out to lightly pat chanyeol on the arm, she chuckles as she makes herself comfortable. setting her purse to the side carefully, she hums, shooting him a mildly surprised look.
"oh, really?" she muses. "thank you, yeollie~ you're always so thoughtful." a true golden boy indeed, she thinks. "i didn't keep you long, did i? my hair wasn't cooperating with me." she breathes out dramatically, scrunching her nose cutely. "thanks for offering to meet up to discuss this. i was wishing for something to do."
magnetic moon,
@sgnleland
normally, wendy doesn't mind the valentines holiday. it's cute, she likes reds and pinks and purples and pastels-- the aesthetics are nice, and she's excited for the upcoming day for the festivities. though now, she feels a tiny bit burdened, tasked with helping out the student government pass out lovestagrams. it would look nice, she told herself-- in the name of dahlia, and all that good stuff. it was a decision made to help the club in terms of reputation, but after being tasked with having to be someone to help deliver them, she's beginning to regret it.
she bites back a curse, breathing out through her nose with a huff as she drops a couple of notes on the ground. resisting the urge to stomp her foot, she counts to five in her head slowly-- trying to calm her temper before she slowly lowers herself to the ground, her fingers tight on the stack of letters in her hand before she jerkily begins to grab at the ones that have fallen.
glancing up as she sees movement in her peripheral, she blinks in recognition. instantly, a smile crosses her face-- all traces of annoyance left as she lifts up a hand in a wave to capture his attention. "leland!" she greets. her eyes move between him and the pile of letters. hurriedly gathering them up, she pushes herself to stand at full height, smile never breaking. "ah, sorry. i keep dropping these silly things. are you writing someone special a lovestagram?" she asks, tilting her head to the side curiously.
rambling girls,
@sgnxseungah
her eyes are bored, expression blank as she makes her way back to the table where the rest of the group were originally. she had stepped back to get another drink-- lara had run off somewhere, so she'd be found later on she's sure. she sips at her drink daintily, side stepping various party-goers and shaking her head with a sharp smile to anyone that reached out to grab her attention.
wendy doesn't mind clubs. doesn't mind getting out-- but they always feel like too much at one point. too much sound, too many things to go wrong. it feels fun to be out and about, garnering attention in a way that wendy enjoys; but that's something that wendy prefers, most of the time. wanted from afar, but never too close.
so she keeps herself in check, smiles easily but nudges away any motions to dance. instead, she returns to the table with a hum, a smile sliding in place when she catches sight of seungah. she glances around, pausing by the seats, clutching at her elbow loosely while she brings her drink up to sip. "not up to dancing right now?" she muses, shooting the other girl a smile. "people are bold today, it feels like. something in that valentine's air get's everyone thinking they can score." wendy's eyes roll as she scoffs to herself. "have you been keeping cozy over here?"
