since both of his parents were medical staff, gikwang had been basically raised in the university hospital, so it was only natural for him to know most hallways and medical wards. from a young age on, his parents had brought him along, as he had shown interest in his parents' work and had developed a curiosity towards the hospital and things going on in there. whenever he hung around in the radiology where his mother worked as radiology assistant or in the medical ward of the pediatry where his father worked as male nurse, the colleagues would come up and greet him, praising how he had turned into a fine man. it was comfortable to walk around familiar hallways, and even if enjoyed the "normal" paths due to many different factors, sometimes the "secret" ways were much more interesting and those he wanted to share with leland, one of his hoobaes.
the other was actually a veterinary medicine student, with similiar core courses, the two of them had eventually met and got to know each other. leland was a young cutie and fun to hang out with and as he had always wanted a medicine buddy to discover the dark, abandoned medical wards, there was no way he would have accepted a no, when he asked leland to join him on a little detour during an internship.
nodding his head and shooting the brightest smile as they passed a few nurses on their way to a back way, gikwang dragged the other along. most medical staff knew his face, so nobody was suspecting a thing, when the two medicine students walked around an area that didn't received many visitors.
