Wumuti essentially talking openly about the concept of transmasc/transfem nonbinary on hong seokcheon’s radio show is so wild, I never thought I’d see an idol be so open about gender discussions and muti even said she’s never been this honest, they talked about so much…….basically muti said how people are labeled by society as man or woman at birth, those are the assigned imposed societal positions, and people can feel they don’t fit within that binary of the 2 assigned positions but still identify more towards the “side” opposite from their agab and want to present more towards that side- she went on to say this is what she wants to show and that xlov’s concept is all about each member wearing whatever makes them happiest and presenting however is their happiest and truest self regardless of what they were born as, and that this can be seen clearly in their styling and choreo/music 🥹🥹🩷🩷🩷

@wumutischerrylips MLADY HERE IS THE FIC I HOPE U ENJOYYYYY
psych ward au with mother muti and her three daughters (everyone's just referred to as she/her)
1k words
tw talk of mental illness, gore, violence, and mother
The mother and her three daughters were admitted on Sunday, after a church service gone bloody.
A mother and her daughters? Really? Responsible for such awful happenings?
At least it explains the blood on her polished white heels.
The youngest daughter was like a rabid animal, constantly twitching and ready to lunge at any second, her short black hair teased like she was electrocuted. Her mouth was a bruised, angry pout, as if instead of smashing a man's skull in, she had merely not gotten her way. She had to be sedated and restrained.
The middle daughter was disturbingly serene. Clear blue eyes that looked faraway, yet her palms were bloody from her nails digging in. Her skin was smooth, save for the thin scar across her upper lip. She had allegedly hit a bible over a man's head.
The eldest daughter was similar to a morbid rabbit- sickly green, thin features, but full lips and a shock of faded, choppy pink hair, almost to her waist. She hadn't said a single word since she was dragged in, but she had thrown up thrice. According to the police, she had throttled a man until he passed out. She, too, was sedated and restrained.
But the mother.
She was the frightening one.
Such calm eyes, such pretty lips, such gentle looking hands. But even pretty lips can be torn and bleeding. Even hands that have cradled a child can have split, bloodied knuckles. She had done the worst to a man. Taken a glass in her hand and broke it on his sternum, before stabbing him four times. She had a manic smile and red on her teeth- was it lipstick or blood? Her limbs twitched like a live wire, restless.
And when she was taken into isolation from her daughters she screamed and howled and sobbed for hours upon hours on end, tearing at her face and her arms until she was forced into a straightjacket and finally sedated like her girls.
But even a week later, none of this strange family had recovered. The eldest daughter took to roaming the halls of the psychiatric hospital in the early hours of the morning. She would talk to mirrors and wave idly at the security cameras, then sleep outside the door of her mother's solitary room.
The middle daughter simply sat by windows and stared for hours upon hours. She'd refuse to say a single word to anyone, then suddenly walk up to a nurse, force them to sit down, and talk to them in an endless, meaningless ramble about nonsense for as long as she pleased.
The youngest daughter was most like her mother. She would cry and scream until she vomited, until her throat went hoarse, begging to be with her mother again. Also kept in a solitary room, she had not seen her sisters save for through the window in the door.
Their mother spent most of her days asleep, sedated for 'being a danger to staff and herself'. But when she was awake, she would lay on the floor of her room, staring up at the ceiling and singing lullabies to herself. She had a lovely, soft voice that could send anyone into dreamland, even as tears slipped down her cheeks.
After two weeks, the daughters were finally allowed outside in the garden under strict supervision. The eldest daughter was ecstatic, and asked a nurse to pick some of the pink roses that were growing.
"Why?" asked the nurse.
"For mama," answered the daughter.
The nurse complied, smiling gently as she snipped of exactly three of the blush-pink roses, one from each daughter.
"Does your mama like roses, huh?' the nurse inquired.
"Yes, but she loves the thorns more," replied the eldest with a giggle.
When they got inside, the nurse took the roses and quickly peeled off the thorns, and finally gave them to the eldest.
The middle daughter just laughed and lay on the footpath, basking in the first sunlight she had felt in weeks. Her blue, blue eyes shone grey-green in the spring light, with a sparkle that had never disappeared. Her arms and legs were thrown wide as if she were making a snow angel, her honey-tan skin softened by being indoors for so long.
The youngest refused to come outside. She stood firmly at the doorway, her arms crossed and her lips still in that cranky pout. Still, her black hair stood up like Robert Smith's almost, but now after throwing borderline tantrums about having her hair washed, it was thick with grease. She had still not been able to see their mother in the past two weeks, and had since fallen into a deep pit of stubbornness and sadness.
The mother was not allowed a single foot outside of her room at all since being there. But in this last week, the same week that her daughters went outside, she tossed and turned and paced and, for a full hour one day, sat in a corner and looked in the mirror across the room at herself. Every three hours each day, a nurse came in to administer a high dose of a 'chill pill' to lessen the mother's manic mental state.
One night, she lashed out. She broke.
A nurse came in to give her the final dosage for the evening, and the mother lunged, her weakened frame still able to send the nurse to the floor. But the mother did not scream, nor was she angry. There were simply tears in her eyes and her heart in her throat.
"Please.. don't take my consciousness from me again. Let me see my eldest. I know she sleeps by my door. Let her in tonight, please."
The nurse, still pinned beneath the mother, merely nodded. "I'll see what I can do, ma'am."
And that night, the daughters slept in the same bed as their mother. Arms and legs tangled with one another, breathing the same air. As the girls slept, the mother gazed upon their resting faces, stroking their hair, kissing their temples, before she too finally fell into rest.
“I think, before we met you guys, we…was… still a little scared about the world, the people. And when we actually debuted, and seeing all the love from you guys, um, this is true. We were in our home and we were just, like, hugging and… just…crying and…we can't believe it's real. And, yes, and today, we actually feel it's real and you guys here.
And I hope you guys know, we will make more, more, more chance for you guys, and show you guys more, more, more and more. [inaudible] and just, just feel so safe with you guys, you know, I don't know.
Thank you guys so much. Okay, the true love. Thank you guys to showing the true love, the beautiful love for XLOV.
[inaudible]
I just want to say one more thing. I don't know. It’s, like, a lot of people here. I think, I hope more of the trainees in Korea, uh, and more company, maybe, can make a space to all the trainees, and…being their self.
And do what…you want to do. [inaudible] more amazing artist, and more amazing music, and more amazing fashion, and all the things. Because this is the truth.
Because Hyun, almost seven years trainee life. I don't know. I feel a lot of, um, I don’t know. I think [her/heard?], it was like, a lot of “no” from a lot of people. And me too. And Rui was too. And Haru was too.
So I just want to show all the trainees who have dream to being an idol, and who has the thing really want to do. I just want to tell them, “hear XLOV. Hear EVOL.” I think [inaudible] a lot of chance to do what you want to do. And that's the best thing you will do. If you have something really want to do, don't [care?] about other people. Just do what you want. And that's the answer. That's make you beautiful.
And I think it's time to take a picture together! [inaudible] and picture time, everyone.”
Now that I'm 10% more coherent than last night I also have to talk about the flag situation
Like, when the management of a band that has a genderless concept which screams queer releases a bullshit statement that says "uh, no more flags at concerts, we want to keep it inclusive for everyone" after one of the members got scolded for wanting to pick up a pride flag - that stings. It's very much giving "we are aware the fanbase is super gay and they give us their money so we'll accept that begrudgingly but we don't want to see it ew :/"
But, you know, you kind of accept that most of kpop is conservative that way and as much as it sucks, queer people are used to stuff like that. So you maybe plan on dressing very colourful or sneaking pride flags in and find comfort in the thought that the band doesn't feel that way even when they're probably not allowed to talk about it.
All that for then to witness live how the same band takes the stage, doesn't sing, doesn't dance, but says "we need to talk." There's a lot of videos and transcripts out there of Wumutis exact words and yes he did explain the situation, but his speech was also one big "we see you. We know you're hurt and you're allowed to be, and we're so sorry that happened, but we see you and want to make a change".
I was fighting back tears the entire time (because I spent too fucking long on that make up) and am still getting choked up whenever I think about it because it was SO unexpected. Because we're so used to people just not talking about it. But Wumuti did, and he did it in a language he's not super comfortable in because he wanted as many people as possible to understand him without anything getting lost in translation and man. I'm so emotional.
Quick psa because I'm actually so tired of this shit.
Xlov have a QUEER concept. Genderless. Queer. If you're not queer you are absolutely welcome to join the fandom and love the group but keep in mind, your two cents are not needed in this queer space that is the Evol fandom. Your opinions on how queer people engage with their queer concept are not welcomed. We will speak about the members in a queer way because they are presenting themselves in a queer way (we also have permission from Wumuti to use whatever words and pronouns we want with the members, i.e she, diva, mother, queen etc.) and as an Agender person I'm also very annoyed with the way non-genderless people talk about their concept, if you do not understand what genderless means as a concept you can ask evols in the "Evolville" community tab on twitter. Too many people talk about their genderless concept in a binary way which is the exact opposite of the point..
Also I am using Queer specifically and not lgbtq or gay or anything like that because you can be lgbt and not culturally queer, which is very much a problem that a lot of people need to work on... because if you're culturally queer you would see no problem with evols using she/her with the members..
All four members of Xlov have now stated they are perfectly okay with us using any pronouns for them!
Wumuti and Rui had already said we can use whatever pronouns we want, Wumuti also spoke for the group as a whole that they fine with it and now Haru and Hyun have confirmed they are okay with it.
xlov having a genderless concept... xlov proudly embracing queer culture... xlov being comfortable with any pronouns... xlov pushing for companies to allow trans evols to use their chosen names instead of their deadnames for fansigns... xlov telling queer evols that we're safe with them, they are our home, and that We are also a safe space for Them... the group ever
Quick psa because I'm actually so tired of this shit.

Been wondering what makes XLOV stand out to me, what makes them feel like home, apart from my being queer and loving the representation. There's something more that draws me. I realised that it's because XLOV as a group was formed out of love and trust, not convenience. Wumuti picked the members, his closest friends. That's intentionality. He promised Rui that he'd make him shine, and kept his promise. That's loyalty.
In an industry where groups are treated like products, tailored to trends and controlled by companies, XLOV stand out. Wumuti didn’t just recruit members, he called in people he believed in, and it shows in the way they treat each other.
I've been here long enough to know groups that clearly didn’t like each other, where members were abusive (cough n.ssign cough), groups where members have outright said that they wouldn't be friends outside of the group due to personality differences (my beloved E'LAST), and I've also seen groups like Stray Kids where they were deliberately chosen, and Seventeen where they deliberately chose to stay together. There's a visible difference in the dynamics, the chemistry, the amount of respect, even through all the media training and idol polish.
You can see this in XLOV, in the way that Rui gets technical parts in his choreography. Yes, it supports their genderless concept, but it's not necessary to highlight his skill. They do it anyway, because they want to show what makes him shine. Haru's dance break in 1&Only, and the fact that they followed his suggestion for the skirt choreography in BIZNESS? That's creative respect. And the way they praise Hyun's skin tone even though it’s outside of Korea's beauty standards? You get the point.
hi could u give me an intro to xlov? i’m a baby evol and i’m still navigating… like who are lavenderz?? i need to know the fandom inside jokes and etc lol
hi anon!
ok so, i'm also lowkey a babyvol too considering i only really got sucked in this comeback, so there's a ton of debut era content that i'm still disocvering now.
but, i was on the peripherals of the fandom for a little while before delving in, so, i'll do my best to give you a little intro to the group. this will get long......i tend to ramble, and will probably go on a tangent so, sorry in advance!
oh, and i'll also link a fun little video for you too here.
ok so!
first thing you need to know, is that they're pretty much a self-made group.
i don't know the detailed ins & outs of it, but basically, wumuti (leader & oldest member, our motheeerrrr) was on boys planet, where he met rui & haru - he was eliminated, but after, joined a production company. muti said, he'd had an idea for a boy group for a long time, with a unique genderless concept, but, didn't have the means, or the right people to make it a reality.
buuut, when he joined 257 entertainment, they trusted his vision, soooo, he basically like gathered up the cuntiest, most talented divas he knew (rui & haru, who he met on boys planet, and hyun who'd known for a while from being trainees in another company) and formed xlov.
they debuted january this year, so are incredibly new but damn, they've been working their asses off ever since!
they are literally, doing so much themselves.
wumuti produces a lot, writes lyrics, he's also in charge of styling and make-up. (if you haven't already, you should watch wumuti's make-up tutorials!) he is an incredibly hands-on and supportive leader when it comes to that side of things - their recent recording behind shows it really well.
he knows the strengths of each member, and how best to enhance their skills. he's also super encouraging and comforting (can you tell he's my bias lol). even down to little details, like the members nail looks for 1&only. rui has his talons full of gems and deco, haru tends to have bright colours and cutesy art, and hyun just has his painted with simpler art, as opposed to long nails, because that's what they all prefer!
it genuinely kinda makes me emotional tbh....
they have input on their choreos, create some of them, and even run/decide what goes on ther official social media accounts themselves. wumuti says he's in charge of insta, rui & haru tiktok & hyun b.stage.
all this allows them to express the concept in their own unique way, and just, allows them to be themselves, it's so so refreshing, and the members thrive under that kind of environment.
they just keep getting better & better.
but yes sorry! got ahead of myself a little
in regards to lavenderz, that's rui & hyun's duo name - because their colour (rui 🩷 & hyun 💙) make the lavender colour~ (wumuti's colour is ❤️ & haru's is 💛) there are quite a few jokes and memes that just refer to their colours, so that could be confusing as a baby evol.
also their emoji's god, i forgot about them - wumuti 🐰, rui 🦋 (rui will usually have a butterfly motif somwhere when it comes to stage fits), hyun 🐵, haru 🦊
a quick guide to the duo names, because they get used a lot in the fandom
lavenderz - rui & haru
barbiez - rui & wumuti
hyunmuti - wumuti & hyun
saruharuz - hyun & haru
uharuz - haru & wumuti (though haru refers to them as mother & son lol)
ruruz - rui & haru (again haru calls rui his big sister)
also, you might know this already, but members ages and official positions.
wumuti - leader/producer, turning 26 tomorrow!
rui - all rounder, 24
hyun - n/a, 22
haru - maknae, 19
their 'official' positions are funny because they basically do it all.
when it comes to memes and inside jokes, it genuinely so hard to keep up lol - stuff sprouts up every day, because the members do so much fan interaction, and just, there's so much content right now. i literally live in the evolville community on twt and i still miss stuff.
alot of them come from interactions with members during fanmeets/signs/calls.
as a new group, xlov are absolutely nailing it in regards to fan interaction. they so funny, sweet, open, and encouraging when talking to fans. they discuss what concepts they like to try, compliment fans nail art, tattoos, make-up and fits!
they do fun challenges, and so so many amazing covers too, oh ny god, check some of them out anon.
besides pics of them just being cunty af, their covers is how i started getting into them in the first place.
they have said they're on twitter too, so they're actually in on a lot of the fandom memes, and see everything lol. also, you can tell they have a genuine love of kpop and music as a whole. they talk a lot about their music influences and inspirations.
rui is a big girl group stan - a fan recently gifted him katseye album to unbox, and he was soooo excited <3
another thing, is that all the members are from different places! hyun is korean, haru, japanese, rui is taiwanese and wumuti is from china, but, more specifically the ürum region in xinjiang, which makes him ethnically uyghur, which is very important to him, and something he talks about a lot.
they're all fluent in multiple languages too, it's crazy. muti said he learnt korean in 3 months???
it feels like they're on a massive upward trajectory atm. every other day an xlov tweet goes viral. wether it's rui teaching a fan how to twerk at a fansign, haru absolutely killing it covering move by taemin, hyun's amazingly expressive recations during fancalls, or muti's absolutely transcedant levels of MOTHERING.
or just people just discivering their music organically and realising how good it is!
then boom, a new evol is born.
they keep gaining fans, and i am so proud. like i've only really had xlov for a couple of months at this point, but i'm gonna be here for a while, i know it.
lmaoooo this wasn't so much an intro but more me gushing about them??? and there's probably a ton of stuff i've forgotten....but i hope this was somewhat helpful to you! ❤️🔥
