I'm a pretty terrible writer so almost everything I have about it is via discord chats so it's all a big mess but I rly wanna sit down at some point and collect all of those yap sessions and hopefully make something more cohesive out of it ! probably after artfight !!! where I'll also get back to so many wips omg 🏃🏃🏃

The only public-ish place I have anything written is on artfight (for the characters I have posted there), so no worries at all!! Aside from that site being hidden from non-users (right??) it also requires a bit of digging dfjlsidshdidj

The gist of it is that Hyrule is hit by a terrible plague for many years and Zelda has taken the failure of somehow not being able to magically fix a deadly illness on her own shoulders and it's mainly about how she's let that mess up her relationship to her family and also her perception of herself and life and death and long settled into that messy state of existence, Link shows back up from her past and shakes everything up by being the complete opposite to her and it's all a huge mess. and also the great fairy Ayana has lost contact to her fellow great fairies who might be connected to recent changes of the way illness is spreading in a weird way. and also Zelda's 4 sons all dealing with her abandonment of them in completely different but all terrible ways.

Zelda's Profile:

"Zelda is the queen of Hyrule during the time of plagues prior to alttp. All her life she’s been working to contact the gods to find a way to get rid of the seemingly unending plague, but has found no answer despite repeated pilgrimages to pray for help. On her most recent pilgrimage she is joined by the knight Link who quickly derails the planned journey, which leads to the discovery of illness seeping into the earth itself and poisoning the world further. In doing so they also meet the great fairy ??? who convinces them to steer their pilgrimage away from reaching the gods and instead help her missing fellow great fairies. Zelda is struggling to fulfill what she feels her duty is, and is doing her best despite hopelessness after a lifetime of feeling like she has wasted her time on failure after failure.

Younger than she looks, but phsyically in great health despite the stresses of life taking a visible toll on her. Someone overly dedicated to her duty who is pretty bad at taking care of herself or considering her own wants or wellbeing. 

Mother to 4 living sons, though she had wanted a daughter and has since spread her sons through the lands and almost fully abandoned them to theirn own. This is both as part of the generel tendency to spread ppl out in order to avoid spreading of infection, but it is also a result of growing urgency for her to be out and about making her too distracted to know them. Bc of this their relationships are strained in different ways.

During a tough time earlier in life she met Link who has grown up in the castle as someone taken in along with other orphans from the plague. When dwindling resources causes the pilgrimage party to be cut down Link is chosen as Zelda's partnered knight bc of his immunity to the plague and because of their previous familiarity. Zelda will not admit to anyone that Link haunts her a little bc of his unsettling ways and seeing her at her weakest in the past."

Link's Profile:

"During the time of plagues prior to alttp, Link's family is among the early to fall and he is brought to grow up in the castle along with other orphans as a show of goodwill of the royal family. As these kids are automatically taught in different jobs useful to the royal family, Link ends up part of the guard in hopes of getting to see different parts of the world. When the plague spreads further he is, due to a discovered immunity to the plague, however pulled back to the castle town and instead recruited for support in taking care of the ill and dying. While it turns out he has a knack for pulling out the right emotions and comfort for the dying, he quickly jumps at the chance to join Zelda in her most recent pilgrimage, where he derails her plans to seek out the gods, claiming that if she herself believes she's wasting her time she truly will be. 

Obsessed with the general beauty of the world but to the extent that he'll find something beautiful in the sad, gross or macabre too which often unsettles people around him. It can be an uplifting trait too however and it means he can seem generally positive even when things are utterly hopeless. For better or worse. Zelda is among the unsettled, but Link's thought progress eventually grows on her is it forces her to see things in a new light.

As a break from having to stay proper, polite and distant in his job a lot, Link has grown fond of messing with Zelda's second son Haldor who has personal biased beef with Link. While Link has no stakes in this or in preserving any kind of honour, great joy is found in making Haldor face the humiliation of getting into fist fights with random knights..."

Yngve's Profile:

"Zelda's oldest son who has taken it upon himself to find a solution to Hyrule's current problems while Zelda seeks the gods. Since Zelda sent him away from the capital he has taken a highup role in far away military expeditions for civilian aid. He uses most of his free time and the freedom of travel to attempt to dig up lost history in hopes of finding either signs of the gods' interference in the past or previous cases of similar plagues. Haldor who was sent away at the same time as Yngve has since found his way back to him and is doing his best to support him in his goals. 

A studious, calm type who likes quiet activities like reading and gardening and is both serious and gullible. He holds great respect for Zelda and considers it his own duty to fix everything that is wrong with the world and hopes it will eventually bring their family together. This intense focus on trying to support Zelda has however ensured that he's not actually close to his brothers save for Haldor, who seems to always be by his side.

"stinky poopoo man who is the second son of Zelda and kinda hates her guts for throwing her kids to the winds. Outwardly he's a kind and pleasant guy who works hard and is a great support to the people around him, but he has a petty side and can lose his temper pretty bad around certain people. Yngve's self proclaimed right hand man who would rather see him on the throne in Zelda's stead, but will support him in anything despite bitterness. Actually made the effort to reach out to his siblings and has a great relationship with both Yngve and Visti as a result.
