Star Trek, specifically Spirk or Spock/Bones/Kirk. I also like Scotty but I really love Spirk.

Star Wars, prequel and original movies along with any of the games. I was not pleased with the sequels, I apoligize.

X-men, my favorites are Logan, Megneto, and Professor X.

Spiderman, minus MJ (a little). I just do not enjoy when the comics, games, or movies/TV shows start making her a damsel or when they make her un-understanding of Peter's responsibilities as his hero persona. She did not start out that way as a character.

Loki Laufeyson, specifically in his relationship to his mother and brother. I like the complexities of his struggle to be accepted and how Freya treats him as her own--no matter what he has done.

There is definitely more, but I do not remember them all.

I'm taking a break from War Games. Don't worry, it's not permanent. I just think I need to possibly reframe it and actually take my time with it. In the meantime, I'll probably do some short one shots for Halloween season.

Right now I'm thinking of some with Red Riding Hood (2011) with Valerie and Peter.

War Games (pt2) - Starfleet Academy Days

Author's note: This is based *very* loosely on the original show, starfleet academy, the 2000s movies, my personal headcannons, and some of my own knowledge of how military colleges and academies work.

This is split into multiple parts. and will be apart of a series called "Starfleet Academy Days" to distinguish it from the show Starfleet Academy. It is set in the 23rd centry (2201-2300), which should be around the time that the crew of the original show lived their early lives and started their careers. If you haven't read the first part of this, I recomend to read it. I hope this is a lot longer than the first part.

Setting and Plot: Starfleet Academy, Chicago Campus, Milky Way Galaxy in a select nebula. Kirk and Spock are top of their class and, as such, are to be the acting captians in the anual War Games. Kirk has lost the last three years' anual games and with this being their senior year, he is hell bent on winning.

It's cold...

My eyes are heavy and the bridge's lights are bright. The crew stations beep idly and I am damn close to falling asleep as we navigate to the next space station to "capture". Three targets and we have only captured one. Spock as captured one himself. The warp drive is off-limits. We have to go old-school and limp our way across the nebula.

My eyes close for half a second before I jolt back awake, staring back at the void of stars and faraway galaxies. I inhale and sit up, looking around the bridge. "Asoshian, take the helm," I say, rising from the chair with a slight wobble. I stagger my way to the turbolift.

Jezz, did it get brighter?

The hum of the turbolift nearly lulled me to sleep. I blinked. Then, I blinked again and suddenly I was sitting on my bed, staring out the window and I couldn't help thinking... This is our last year at the academy. In just three more months, me and Bones and Spock will graduate and I'll never get to see them again...

Something about that thought didn't sit right. Never see Bones's scowl again? Never get to argue with that pointy-eared goblin with a superiority complex? It felt wrong to imagine. No way. Spock had been my academic rival and dormmate for ages. Who was going to push me to do more than my best but to "challenge myself" to my full potential? Bones would just roll his eyes at me and tell me to fuck off unless I was bleeding, sick, or dying if I tried what I do with Spock.

My world would be missing something fundemental.

I started to lay down. Tucking a pillow under my head, I yawned. I also realized that it's freezing cold. A quick glance to the thermosate would have told me it was seventy-two. But I already knew that it would be cold. My quarters were extremely close to the bridge.

But no, it was not that the bridge was cold.

The real coolness was the idea of a reality without Spock to annoy me was.

Finals are finally done and I PASSED. You have no idea what a maricle that was, I've fail 3 classes. But I will get back to writing after a few days. I just need some time to relax.

Just posting to let those who are waiting for the next part of War Games that's going to be a while. I have college classes and the ones specific to my degree kick my ass literally anytime I shift my focus for even a split second. However, I will be writing on it's draft intermittently. So, it is still being worked on. It just won't be out for a hot minute.

The academy has always been... ambitious in its techniques. State of the art simulations, some medical students performing life-like surguries on non-sentiant holograms, and field experiences. But the one thing that had remained from way-back in the twenty-first centry was War Games.

"Criticial thinking," they said.

"Fast, on your feet decision-making," they said.

"Strategy," they said.

Damn it all to hell. The academy had simulations for that! I sighed as I leaned back in my chair. This assembly had been long. Longer than necessary in my opinion. But all of us three? four thousand of us had to sit here and listen to them drone on and on about the safety measures in place. "As if we didn't sign up for danger when we enlisted in the Federation," I scoffed, only for Bones to smack me upside my head. "Shut up and listen. The last person I want to be my first patient is you."

"They explain the same thing every year-" "And this is why you keep losing," Bones hissed. He had said with a finality and logic that I couldn't argue. So, for once, I shut up.

The assembly took another hour of explaining in far too much detail that no leathal ammo would be aboard either competing ships, personelle guns would be locked on stun, and each ship would have multiple instructors to oversee the games. The same things I have heard for last three years.

Everyone was dismissed back to their dormitories to prepare. All I cared about was finally figuring out what I was doing wrong. As I exited the auditorium, I spotted the pointy-eared son of a bitch. "Hey, Spock! Ready to lose this year?" I grinned only to watch as that smug look swept across his face. "I do not believe it will be me losing, Mister Kirk."
